It doesn’t bother me if Joan Rivers is or isn’t played by a Jewish woman; for someone who isn’t Jewish or a working actor, I’m sure Silverman would be great in the part. I’m just not as willing to write off Hahn’s performance the way you have because she isn’t Jewish.

Casting only Jews in Jewish roles will make more Jews open up about being Jewish? I guess that’s easier than making all Jewish actors wear some sort of identifying symbol when they go to work.
