But they have pro/rel and a free market with no caps on spending how can it be that Ligue 1 is so bad? Can’t the other clubs just find rich owners and buy a competitive team?

The trail of blood wouldn’t have been so spread out if only Pappa, a longtime Sounder, had a cup to bleed in.
The FIFA break thing is (shockingly) up to the individual teams in MLS. All it would take to fully observe the breaks is for the owners to unanimously say they weren’t going to play on those dates. Garber mentioned it in an interview a few weeks ago.
Not really. The standard of play is getting better despite the expansion, since so much of the player pool is international. Plus, we’re starting to see the first wave of players who did all of their youth development in MLS academies (see: Matt Miazga, who entered the Red Bulls academy at 14). Combine those two…
Juan Carlos Osorio, the guy who led perhaps the worst team in MLS history! I trust his judgment on the league!
Come on now, this is Screamer/Deadspin. That would fail to fall in line with the pathetic, constant bashing of the MLS.
Hilariously, Osorio had two failed stints in MLS and finished one season with the worst record in MLS history.
