That ambush with the baby at the end was not earned, nor was it believable. It was also poorly blocked and the pacing was totally off. There was nothing indicated about their friendship that it could possibly have devolved into physical violence, and those characters just wouldn't hit each other - except if the blond

yo - it's a fictional TV show, not a documentary. but since i've lived there, I kept thinking "everyone would be freezing their tits off - even the men." Breakfast on a northern california balcony overlooking the ocean is not possible.

but clearly a device to heighten tension, perhaps foreshadow, and definitely extenuate drama into the parental interactions, so I was okay with it. it was kind of a perverse thrill watching that twisted scenario.
