I wish I was raised to believe that all I had to do was complain about something I don’t like to make it better. I can go to the school board every day and yell at the leaders, but it won’t make a difference. $10000 to the public school system won’t do shit. $10000 to private school will get my son a safe education.
Where the fuck do you buy five Klan hoods?
I prefer Thursday or Wednesday starts. Our superintendent decided we should start on a Monday (despite all the teachers disagreement ). High school kids were tired and cranky come Thursday. The lower elementary teachers practically revolted because their kids were completely exhausted by Thursday. We went back to…
Sounds like concession to me.
I am a white Independent and moderate and based on what you have said here I am immensely more balanced in my viewpoint than you are. I equally hold both parties on equal distain. Many statements about the disagreements between seemingly identical positions but arguing over simple small disagreements is endemic of…
“Amiott, the report noted, had been cited for everything from pistol-whipping a driver with a handgun (like, seriously?), mishandling evidence, losing his temper in front of his commanding officer and being involved in two crashes in police vehicles.”
Having the sick impulse to call the cops, from the site of one of the worst flood disasters in American history, to report victims of that flood for looting a supermarket; but also: a crime
Am I the only one who read the headline and imagined people having to whack themselves in the face with their phones, or being made to rub their phones all over their faces?
Does each manufacturer set the hours for a job? Or is it ASE, etc?
If you think the government is less likely to f#ck us over with control over our healthcare costs... you are sorely mistaken.
Didn’t have time to read the whole article, but my input thus far is flat rate is a cancer in my industry. It encourages spite and cut-throat competition amongst the techs and writers to the point where a “green” tech won’t ask questions if they aren’t sure of something because they don’t wanna be taking food off of…
Yes. I agree. And thinking that a city should “seriously build hundreds of thousands of new units of housing as quickly as possible” is what I would call “throwing up housing for the sake of throwing up housing.”
The problem is that the currently popular definition is one that describes systemic racism but white people are confusing it with racial supremacism and the very ugly image the latter conjures putting them on the defensive.
No arguments there, but again the whole idea that we should simply erase this man from the consciousness of history is short sighted at best and plain out ignorant at worst. Lay open Columbus’ brutal behavior and imprisonment, right alongside the rest of the historical record. There’s absolutely no reason why people…
I mean, every single person born after this guy defaced the moneument will never be able to see a non-damaged version of one of the oldest monuments in the US. Did you also hurrah ISIS’s destruction of monuments/archeological finds because the societies who built the monuments weren’t up to your modern ideals?
If these people lived in the Middle East, they would be cheering ISIS’s destruction of monuments as well. It is the same ideology (albeit older history being destroyed).
People who support the destruction of monuments to people like Columbus or Washington basically want saints, not history with all of it’s faults. “But, but, he was a racist!” No shit, Dick Tracy. So was, literally, everybody else in 1492.
Im sorry but this is getting ridiculous. Not because I feel that many of these statues should remain but the fact that people feel that vigilante destruction is actually an ok thing. Especially when local governments have shown a willingness to take down the statues on their own.
