I don’t think that was his point at all. I think he was just trying to point out that firing someone can have unintended consequences that further hurt the victims. None of the plans presented in the article take that into account and they ought to. 

I thought the “oh, so you only care about protecting abusers?” replies you got were missing the point and in bad faith.
