Is the 1.5L 3-cyl actually a new engine? I thought that one of the benefits of the baby Bronco was that it was based on the already existing Escape platform, so issues like this should have been figured out. Looks like they tried to roll with a cheaper fuel injector and now it is backfiring (possibly literally). 

Even if it didn’t have the paint issues, it would still be a solid ND.

I agree that it could be a good base to tinker with, but I was on the fence because of the auto and the lack of interior pictures pushed me over. ND because it’s not going to be fun as it is so may as well find a cheaper base for a project.
