Thank you for this realistic description of the state of infrastructure today. I for one could not get along with an electric car as my only vehicle for similar reasons.  I am happy to have a plug-in hybrid, but the electric only range is a bit too small to be all that useful.  15 to 25 miles isn’t enough for daily

I remain part of the minority that likes this at this price, NP.

Loving my Samsung washer and dryer, the first new appliances I’ve purchased since the early 90's.

This is a strange article since when Rivian first appeared all the news articles seemed to indicate that GM was going to buy shares in the newish company.  Suddenly it was reported that GM backed out and soon after it was announced that Ford had invested money in the company.

Making par is pretty good for me.”  Perhaps you should be a pro.  Not many people can make par on a regular basis.  In my case I’ve never come close to making par over 9 holes.  The closest I’ve come is about 1 or 2 strokes per hole over par.

I wonder if you learned the lesson.  Never tear down the newly purchased priced possessions of your grand-parents or anyone else for that matter.  I too once owned the equivalent of a Fairmont, the Mercury Zephyr, and while not nearly as well equipped as today’s cars, it was then a car.  It performed extremely poorly,

Had this been a mid 70's Honda Civic in similar condition I’d gladly say NP.  As is the engineering in this thing was just the pre-design of a real car.  Honda was well on its way, but this car is neither in good enough condition nor car-like enough to attract this price, No Dice!

I think I recognize the estate where this picture was taken or where this painting originated.  It seems to be an estate house (then restaurant/cafe) near Beetsterswaag, the Netherlands.

I would suggest that sexism isn’t really the problem here, but trust.  Rivian is a company that relied on its founding group to develop the technology and buy the factory and start the production process.  It is highly unlikely that they would have developed the level of trust that was demanded by the claimant even if

Isn’t that the way it should be?  What is your point?

This needs more info.  How many deaths are we talking about?  How many deaths per 100 000 cyclists, because I’m sure that when it comes to this stat I would assume that the Netherlands ranks very differently.

You can also buy something similar at the Chevy store, the Spark.  There is something neat about cars that are just that, cars.  I still have fond memories of my 91 Tercel with absolutely zero options which I drove for 420 000 km’s.  It was done at then end of my time with it.

The reason it is worth more than when it was new is that when it was new you could buy a thousand of these in similar or better shape (pending options and equipment levels) whereas today this is the only one like it anywhere in this shape.

Wasn’t it John Voight’s pencil, the dentist, not the actor?

Because if you want to preserve the history that was you preserve K-cars.  If you want to preserve the feel good nature of a fantastic history you preserve collector’s cars.  I think the real history is more valuable than the fantasy history.

Wow!  I finally get it.  If you want to make some money collecting cars you have to buy the cheapest most basic car around and keep it for 20 years without driving it.  Most collectors cars don’t have this good a rate of return.  Most Camaros, Monte Carlos, etc. don’t even keep up with inflation on their returns.

Why didn’t you add a gas heater in the garage as well?  That would free up electricity for your electric car.

I think you can still find spaces to get to 160 mph, but I get your point.  I still think that airlines should design their seats so that people can actually get comfortable, especially if you’re going to be stuck in those seats for 10 hours plus for a trans-Pacific flight.

We’re probably going to disagree.  I’d much rather have the Escape than the RAV4.  I’d take a Focus if one was offered as it would be a better deal and drive better as well and I’m sad that Ford has gotten rid of their full line of products.  To each their own.

I guess you’re right!
