Mercury marine, which made the dohc v-8 in previous Corvettes makes pretty damn stout DOHC engines out of basic Chevy architecture. Their engines often run for hours at or near full throttle and they don’t break any more than OHV engines.

Your mama came home with only 25 cents after a hard night on the mattress? Guess after you slid out business went WAY down hill.

It’s hard to go wrong with the BOX that things come in. Kids play with them, dogs and cats hide in them and sometimes rip them to shreds. They are everywhere, and at the same time really NOwhere.

The perfect counter to road rage.. Claws of vengeance

Wonderful to read about this car, and it looks really nice. But how about how it drives? The transmission for instance is a new unit not used, at this time in any other vehicle GM produces. Can it be used in SUVs and trucks? If so then what does that portend for future GM products? More importantly, we gear heads

Pretty damn fast. Am I the only one who can’t wait for the mid engine “Vette to run at the ‘Ring?

I sure hope Ford sees fit to refresh their current line of automobiles under the new leadership.

Fascinating review, thanks Doug. The GT is really an absolutely amazing machine, whatever its badge, and whatever the pricing. When car people talk about cars the CAR is the thing that matters- not “Heritage,” badges or other “Hanger on” stuff. The GT has what it takes to be top level.

Life is not easy, and relationships at times are very hard. One thing you can know going in is to be watchful of the craziness of your potential partner. Extrapolate out from an honest appraisal of who your potential partner is. Can you live with a partner who brings home another in an endless line of “Rescue pets?”

Behold the future of America. Our “Leaders” have lined up at the trough of endless donations to ship manufacturing out of our nation. Whether through tax breaks, through endless red tape or other bull shikes they are in the pocket of special interests who don’t care about the welfare of American people- period.

You make a strong case for work actually giving dignity and purpose to a people’s life. Too bad too many “Leaders” just can’t see any farther than their own pocketbook bulging with money to “Do the wrong thing.”

Ponderosa steakhouses used to be HUGE in the midwest. Many towns had several, and the CEO Jerry Office, was hailed as a genuine genius. Then Jerry sold off the corporation and the stripping of assets began. It took a few decades, but the hulk has finally come to rest and the town that began the craze no longer has

Great find, the “Railton special” has been a personal fave of mine for many years. It was great to see the video of the chassis and car, wish it had sound!

Stood outside my house today and watched B-25s flying out of Wright Patterson AFB where they took part in a flyover. Amazing to watch history take to the skies once more. There is only one “Raider” left alive and he was honored at the base. We owe these folks so much. Let us never forget their sacrifice, or the

It’s a profit center for automakers and suppliers- period. The engineering and optics are fairly mature on this issue at this point. I will concede that the old HID lights are becoming obsolete now with the advent of LEDs. But the vast majority of new car bulbs are STILL halogen bulbs- which have been virtually the

Aside from the skid plates so that these cars can jump curbing is there difference in programming for the hybrid system as well? I’ve heard that opening the throttle for pursuit engages a different algorithm for electric assist.

When Ford was designing the Pinto engineers uncovered a flaw. or rather several flaws, in the design that would happen in a cascade when the vehicle was struck in the rear bumper area resulting in tragedy. When struck in the rear the structure was weak enough that the unibody would basically accordion and make the

Part of me is thrilled by this- the obsessive purification of the essence of 911 purified to a high degree. It’s taking what is essential and appealing about the 911 and distilling it drop by drop.

Got Trumped today? For the cost of five dozen cruise missiles-

Talk about building brand loyalty EARLY and often- this is a potential hard right hit to the bleachers for Ford if done correctly. I can’t imagine any more compelling reason for a young family to look long and hard at Ford products when it comes time to buy a vehicle. Make the business case work and the long term pay
