Actually, no, its a small block Buick v-8 with two cylinders missing.

Surely would NOT be a good position to fall in. Balls away!!!
Cain, have any documentation on this CVT? No doubting you, but I have never seen, nor worked on one. I do know that the variable pitch stator could give a bit of the "Motorboating" effect you describe. I had that in my '67 Eldorado.
Fastest speed ever for my 2001 Chevy Metro? I have no idea. One evening I was called at work in the ER to tell me my son was being squadded to another ER after being hit in the eye with a baseball. I called the nursing supervisor, told him what happened and left. I got on the highway and floored my little 3cyl 5speed…
Good post, you are on the money with most of this- one error however. GM early FWD did not have a cvt transmission. These cars had three ratio Turbo hydramatic 425 series transmissions, derived from the RWD Thm 400 trasmission. The main difference of course was the conversion to FWD by use of a Morse "Silent Drive"…
I totally agree, and many of these issues seem to continue regarding the electrical gremlins in newer VWs. Make them right, warrant them and we may come back.
Your argument is invalid because GM effectively killed Pontiac years before. Products like the GTO and G8 were attempts, IMHO of reviving Pontiac. They died after the glory days of the late fifties with the Bonneville up through the GTO, 2+@, Grand Prix, Firebird, and several other models. When the last Trans Am died…
Hence the room for discussion and debate. Mutual respect opens the gates to conversation and sharing of ideas.
AGREED!
BGC, I agree with you that the title is a lot inflammatory, and does not represent the reality of what Kennedy had at his disposal. Your well reasoned thoughts are logical. Thanks for sharing them.
Did that come from the White House?
Al says you can fly your private jet to pick up your check.
Kennedy did not operate in a vacuum, the joints chiefs were squarely against him on this issue, and his support at the time was marginal in the House and Senate. Nominally you are correct about the Commander in Chief being in charge. But you ignore several critical factors, first among them that a nuke, used in anger…
The one sounds a lot, to me anyway, like a flat crankshaft v-8.
Wow, how much does this cost?
Come on dude, you can do better than this, really. This is an inexpensive car, designed by people who have a great history of making things that last a long time with minimal care, and will do so safely and cheaply for years to come. The economic reality for many people is that there are FAR worse cars to choose…
I like this car a lot. Sounds awesome as well. Roll on yellowbird.
Thanks to God and
So why not? Seriously, there are no inexpensive new cars anymore. They are using preexisting subsystems, makes one hell of a lot of sense to me. Drove to Cinci to sit in one on the tour and I am in for one. Seriously, $6,800 is motorcycle money people, a chaep cycle at that. Yes, I am aware this is classified as a…
Lincoln, do you really want to succeed or not? The secret is right in your face, and it is your heritage. Absolutely, one could take the tack that the right thing to do is research, pproduct research and then clinic a car to get the details just right. Unfortunately this me too thinking does not promote leadership,…
