My personal opinion is that blocking highways should be illegal in all circumstances, that protestors should have been jailed the first day they did so, and that the weak initial response to this protest is what gave it life. A stronger response would have prevented a multi-week blockade in the first place.

Whether you agree with the reasons, it seems like a massive overstep to permanently seize personal vehicles of people protesting.

It’s not really more of a bomb than the millions of trucks/stepvans/semis that have fully exposed fuel tanks. You don’t hear about them going up with much regularity. 

Yeah, I thought 10-2 went out when airbags became standard. Don’t want your forearms smashing into your forehead if the airbag goes off. Every steering wheel I’ve used in the last 2 decades has been designed for 9-3, with all wheel mounted buttons easily reachable.

Which is all well and good...but literally does nothing to stop what happened in Ottawa. The police were unable (or unwilling) to actually stop them, so if there’s any access, legal or not, to the city, these dipshits would be able to do exactly what they did.
