@grapeon777: I think they are, for the most part. Sometimes they just don't think of everything the first time. Their only humans, too, believe it or not.

They should just put it as an option in the "settings" menu. That way, it could be set by user preference and would be easily implemented across all platforms. And devs would like that, too, methinks...

They strategically planned this to come out after the election. That's two whole years of healthy, toyless children we're talking about. You bet your ass it's on the next ballot though.

@SEDAGIVE?!: Haha yeah, I wondered about that.. I think the raft on LOST was bigger than the mentioned aircraft carrier. =~}

But cheese melts in microwaves!!!

Considering these have to be submitted via e-mail, I anticipate some p-shopping. Unfortunately, that was never specified in the rules, but hopefully contestants do what's right. (Ha!)

@goober: I think they are sagging, it's just that the perspective throws it off a little. The wires look to be about 4-6 ft. above the photographer's head and the other poles look to be at least 20-30 ft. high.

@swester: I think they're all pretty great for out-of-the-box consumer level apps. And I couldn't agree more about iWork. It's so much more useful and so unnoticed. Even Apple pushes MS Office to appeal to switchers, which is kinda smart, but they are doing it right with iWork.

@FlameCell: Almost forgot about facetime...

@Zool SD: It basically means they collect the best info on the Keynote from a bunch of different tech sites and compile them on Giz for our viewing pleasure.

@Standish: I'm sorry. You're right. I should've put a "/" instead of "and" between "uses" (which you conveniently left out) and "creates."

@Standish: How'd you get a star? Did you even read what I wrote? And thanks to the later commenters who reminded me of Apple's influence on USB... Mark another one for Apple and their fanboys everywhere (That's 2, @MrRainMan).

@morning-cup-of-MEH: It's not that I care that they say something, I just find it ridiculously annoying. And thanks for your reply!

@ReiRei0: Wait... then what's dry ice? Casey, your head can explode now.

@FlameCell: You're kidding, right? Apple uses and creates tons of open standards (Mini DisplayPort, Firewire, H.264, their html5 protocols, THE FLOPPY DISK, just to name a small few).

@morning-cup-of-MEH: I thought about putting that, but feared the wrath of the haters. It's definitely changed the world and you don't really understand how unless you have one (or a very similar touchscreen smart phone. The iPhone was just first to get it right).

@sjschwar: These are great! Now I have to go try them!

@A Pimp Named DaveR: I agree. They've updated Logic somewhat recently at least as their pro software updates go. And there's almost guaranteed to be new iPod touches. I bet we'll be getting a whole new iLife suite and Garageband will be the featured app like when iMovie was for iLife '08.
