I don’t know if I’d call it a conspiracy spearheaded by the publication, but the publication responding to a large, interested part of their demographic’s hard-on for taking shots at Tesla/Musk. That’s just riding on the wave of popular discussion to get web traffic/ad revenue, much like Gawker repeating every fucking

In total the Adidas x Parley’s upper section is made from sixteen-and-half recycled PET water bottles, and 13 grams of the plastic recycled from the old gill nets. . . . but the Adidas x Parley kicks are only being produced in a limited edition run of just 50 pairs

So they are getting rid of 1650 water bottles in total (16.5 x 50 pairs). This is definitely just PR. I’ll wait to hear about the actually plans to incorporate the efforts into real production shoe before offering any congrats.

The whole thing is a shameless pr move to keep people from being reminded most sneakers are made with child labor at fifty cents an hour in miserable working conditions.

Awesome Kate! Finally an honest and objective article. Thank you!
