Oh yes, the Lynx was a huge beast, with a little screen, relative to all that real estate (but considering its resolution, that was OK)! Hopefully, for all its bulk, it was also quite light and kid-compliant. And on my pic, I've been nice to the old portable (not really "pocketable"!) by putting it at the back...
I knew I should have neutered that Lynx...
What a game. You'll never forget the first time you encounter a Valkyria!
Right! Thanks for adding this. It didn't occur to me that Corpse Party could reach the limits of extreme for some people, but you're right. Still, when it comes to movies, kids taking their fair share of horror are quite common, either as victims (the first example that comes to mind is the Exorcist, even though…
My sales pitch might not be convincing, but you should try it, given the opportunity. Considering how popular SOTC is, I guess that people can appreciate it for various reasons.
Game: Shadow of the Colossus
Don't tempt me! I'm trying to justify not buying a Wii U for a single game! ;) And it's tax season (it always is, where I live). ;)
4? That would be way too many if we were talking about "normal" moments in a Bayonetta trailer! I've got to resist buying a Wii U for that game really... I don't have any HDMI port left on my amp, yeah, that's my reason not to... :/
Indeed, the guys at Team GrisGris know how to build an ambience! In fact, horror just needs the right story-telling to work, and great sound effects are the icing on the cake. I would even say that the 2D PSP graphics served the genre right, for they allowed your mind to process the horror beyond what's on the screen.
"Story, environment, and gameplay", you say? Then the Corpse Party series should be right up your alley, Richard. Even though I haven't played the latest "3D" installment (fingers crossed for a localization), it is my favourite horror series, despite being all cute and "spritey".
When pre-ordering from our local gamestop, we also got that soft-cover artbook. Hope you can get it in North America as well, because it was a nice addition.
Connsidering how much Kojima likes playing with letters, I'm pretty convinced that he thinks Silent Hill5, as a way of dismissing the games that didn't involve Team Silent... And I wouldn't condemn that.
Maybe because The Evil Within seems too descriptive of its own horror? To me, P.T. succeeded because it let your imagination build most of the scare.
Sounds like it's SH2 then, not a bad place to start the series, really. I never played the 1st game, but I decided I would play the full series (SH1 to 4, in fact), despite my own backlog as well, so that I'm ready when the new Silent Hills is released. Boy, SH1 is an absolute nightmare! Not because of the PS1…
Welcome to beautiful Silent Hill: we'll give it all to make your next holidays unforgettable!
Thanks mate! OK, it's not exactly new, but this intro will sum up what you signed for! ;)
If Ubisoft went with "Assassin's Creed: Waldo Kitty edition", I would consider playing my first AC. For real!
If you allow me, KDOTI...
Dear Sega,
