Agreed, but only because of nostalgia. The gameplay is pretty flawed and the modern games really have added some great elements to improve upon that. But I'll always love the simple aesthetic of #2 where every color on the map has just two shades. And oh, the ye old village in the welcome screen really takes me back.

Was this also the one that constantly black-screened while entering battles? Never in my gaming career (can I call it that?) have I wanted my money back so badly. But at least they have a clunky, intrusive DRM/advertising client like U-Play! I shan't be giving Ubisoft another penny.

How satisfying is it to get by the Anor Londo archers in one go? I've finally found a perfect method and I have a three-game streak going, and it's reduced my stress level considerably. I swear it took me more than twenty tries my first time around.

If it's any consolation, it'll be good rolling practice for your no shield build! He has a few attacks that you probably don't want to block.

I couldn't imagine Artorias with an Int build. Aren't all the DLC bosses pretty magic resistant, too? Might be best to start working on a heavy base damage raw weapon just for that fight. I could see Manus being tough, too. I've only done him once, but I just threw on a big two-hander and wailed on him in between

It'd be nice if there were more utility spells that supplemented melee combat rather than just ranged DPS. I did a Faith playthrough recently and was initially pretty excited about "force", but I didn't think it held up very well past the initial stages. It's tough to rely on anything that's completely useless against

I found it to be less grueling than I had remembered the last time I tried it. It wasn't too much worse than the endless "surveying" in Mass Effect 2 (though that's often optional).

I guess this doesn't fit the "original" requirement, but I loved the "God Only Knows" cover from "Columbia's Gayest Quartet" in Bioshock Infinite:

I'm taking Shovel Knight.

GRUMBLE, GRUMBLE…

I thought the combat was actually entertaining. They managed to make the wii-remote slightly less infuriating than in Twilight Princess (in which I had to pause and recalibrate once every five minutes). I enjoyed the boss fights in Skyward Sword more than those of any other game. But, as you said, the world is dull.

I'd have said pretty much any other episode of Peep Show, actually. I can handle just about anything involving Jez. It's typically the Mark-centric episodes that make me cringe.

Let's just agree that it's "too painful to watch twice".

Good god, you people love Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Whoa. I did not consider plasmids/vigors. You, sir, have blown my mind.

I don't own any of those, but I will rejoice that more people get to experience Shovel Knight. Plus, maybe somebody will leave the volume on while playing theirs in a public setting and I'll get to rock out to "Strike the Earth".

Hookshot.

It's a bit of a slog. Leveling up is a bit slow for my MMO-ruined dopamine requirements (experience comes slowly, limiting dual class options) and the environments aren't particularly varied. I played through it just to have a character to import for the sequel (which was less necessary than I previously thought), but

I'll temper my expectations. I'm not really a jRPG fan (unless Golden Sun counts), but I think I actually had read multiple lists that had Chrono Trigger in their top five games of all time.

Ah, Neverwinter Nights 2 AI claims another. Might be better off waiting for Pillars of Eternity (or Sword Coast Legends!) if you need an RPG fix.
