I don't think the market will sort it out - the market is based on maximum profit and will always prefer hardline and non-compromise. But anyway: I think our ideologies are too far apart for this conversation to have any meaningful resolution. But thanks for being civil!

At 50 km altitude the pressure on Venus is earth like, there is oxygen and gravity is earth equivalent. Why we would ever want to go to dried up Mars is beyond me. Lets start building those cloud colonies on Venus!

Nowhere did I state that everyone should be allowed to copy anything they want. Follow the Spotify model. Is there any justifiable reason why record labels should make the ridiculous amounts of money they do? If we accept that artists should get paid and not executives in board rooms, then a subscription service fee

Ho ho. I haven't heard that joke since 1994.

You gave up after three pages? That's not very persistent...

Wow. You really are guzzling that Kool-Aid down.

To be fair - if I was including only one second a day, I sure as shit wouldn't include a single second from work. Just because your life outside of work is boring, doesn't mean everybody else's is.

On another note. She doesn't seem to work much. Also: Could we please stop calling everything we don't like, or most likely everything we won't admit we like, hipster? The word is so diluted now it doesn't even mean anything.

Why is nobody talking about the flying baby in the video!!??

I am just happy I did my road trip across the US in the nineties when it was still a country worth visiting. It really makes me sad how far your country has fallen. And I know the EU is right behind you – on the economic slide of doom at least. Hell we might be overtaking you as we speak.

It really was quite horribly put together. I think Cory Doctorow should write articles for Wired instead of novels - the ideas were totally fresh, the plot not so much. I was cringing on almost every page. I don't even remember if it was a YA novel, but I kind of hope it was...

That game was awesome. It still rocks for drinking with the RPG buddies. Did you know that several add-ons were made?

I believe it refers to the title of the series "The Malazan Book of the Fallen"... The Malazan Empire being the titular part. It is a bit of a stretch, but I guess you could defend the contruct.

What about The Assasination of Jesse James etc. ? It came out the same year as 3:10 to Yuma and was almost as good. I would also argue that No Country for Old Men is basically a western set a century too late.

And this guy has NO skills or? What a stupid point to make. The guy is making this stuff in seconds on the street - of course there is no philosophical depth to it. But who knows what goes on after he goes home at night? Maybe he can do both?

Spotify is without a doubt the best thing that has ever happened to me as a music listener. I started paying for the premium service immediately and I have never regretted that decision. Spotify has opened my ears to so many new artists and plays them in incredibly good quality even over 3G - with no lag at all. Like

Yeah. A shitty service with no guarantee of authenticity, quality and with no money going to the artists. Great!

You realise they are two completely different services?

Great. Very sympathetic. Support the artists! Yaayy.... Oh I guess not.
