Yes! Pretty much any makeup counter will help you. I usually go to Macy. And don't feel pressured to buy anything. I always take note of what colors work in the department store and then head to CVS. Drug store makeup is just as good!

Hit up your local Macy's counter and ask for help! Most associates have a makeup artist background and can help you pick the best shades for your skintone and time of year :)

I feel like you can't really appreciate the power of makeup until you get it professionally done. When you get a really good artist you realize that you don't know SHIT about makeup. My middle school self would've traded lips with you in a second ;)

they have some great pinks too! I usually mix their pink gloss with my fuschia when I want the color to be really bright. I've only worn the gold for a costume, but I think it's cool. Not sure how I'd wear it normally, but I'm determined to figure it out.

Black Opal is pretty amazing. They're probably the best (and sometimes only available) drug store line for women of color. I'm lucky because NY drugstores tend to have a few options depending on what neighborhood you're in, but Milani is another great brand for WOC .
