Andrew Purcell’s 2013 article goes into detail about forensics, specifically that the prosecution lacked forensic evidence and focused on Swearingen’s character instead:

I liked Capuano a lot and didn’t want to see him go. But I think Pressley’s impressive as hell.

Speaking of Eminem, I’ve been expecting him to have a Broadway musical for more than 10 years. Just a matter of time until that.

Agreed. The “and all other times” is the giveaway. Subtle.

Well, it wasn’t the Union leadership who were openly doing this sort of thing, so what would you call them? Anti-union forces had hired muscle as well.

I’ve wondered that as well. I know him IRL and have been meaning to ask.

Can’t look away now.

I love this.

I haven’t seen the footage, but apparently Lightfoot believes the city should build an even more expensive cop academy than Rahm dreamed of and also casually dropped the idea of repurposing shuttered schools for use as police training facilities. She later claimed not to have made the suggestion, even though she made

Agreed that anyone is better than Rahm, but time will show she may not much improvement.

My Chicagoan poll worker friend mentioned that some folks were voting for Lightfoot because she has a prettier name. I think they made the wrong choice.

Posted this earlier but it’s relevant here:

DeVos issues statement on Special Olympics controversy -

Fox should give Tucker a raise as he’s doing exactly what they want him to do.

It’s rather subtle. Honestly, I’m just fascinated by all of this.

My problem with movies/shows/etc. set during the 50s-80s is that the hair is usually wrong, like in this poster.

Now playing

1:08:20 is where you hear her normal voice. Her put-on voice is not that different. To me it sounds like she’s speaking in the same register but is unnaturally pushing the bass frequencies forward.

What sources do you read? I’m always looking for suggestions. For right-leaning views, I read the parts of the National Review that aren’t behind a paywall. The comments from their readers tend to be sub-average, but are slightly better than the comments one sees at the Washington Post.

Hence the “seemed to” which means “somewhat.”

Hi Damien!
