I always wanted to try my hand at making an RPG, but I'm not sure if I should use RPG Maker or something I'm more familiar with for making games, like Fusion.

Man, I've never finished a campaign of D&D. What's it like?? How do you avoid… I dunno, whatever vague, entropic force causes my groups to just meet less and less until we stop altogether?

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I'm kind of shy about anything involving working with total strangers, even if I don't need to talk to them. It was silly, really, but that combined with me having other games I was more interested in playing lead to me not ever trying the multiplayer until all the splatfests had ended.

Ever Oasis is unusual in that I desperately want to like it but every time I play the demo I'm quickly bored. But… but everything is so vibrant and colorful and the character designs are adorable… but I just can't get the hang of the combat. I might try again.

Splatoon is basically reverse-Sunshine. The weird, space-warping paint that entire people can sink into despite only being a centimeter thick is just good for you now.

This is still one of my favorite Mario games.
Also, I recently found a muppet who agrees with me, so that's cool.

Super Mario 63 is actually one of my favorite fangames ever. It was really professional and the level editor was tons of fun.

I found it oddly sad and touching.

If all goes according to plan, I'll be having my third session of Masks: A New Generation this Saturday. Masks is a superhero RPG that takes Powered By The Apocalypse rules and applies them to a team of adolescent superheroes. It's inspired by things like Young Justice and Teen Titans, and there are mechanics for

Man, that first time I beat the game, that scene where those four turrets all have their lasers pointed at you felt like it lasted FOREVER. I was genuinely worried Chell might actually die after all that work.

Weirdly, I just got into Shovel Knight and Splatoon, too (and 2, too) this week. I'd been meaning to play Shovel Knight and called in my overdue birthday present from my brother to download the Treasure Trove for the Switch we just got. I'm still on the main story but very excited to try out Plague of Shadows, mainly

I'm hoping the single player will kelp me work out some of the kinks with guns

It says that humor is subjective and there's something for everyone here!

AAAHHHHGGH WHERE IN AVCLUB DO I TALK ABOUT SEASON THREE

I think Wizards of the Lost Kingdom is my favorite out of all the episodes this season. I was laughing basically non-stop.

I was learning about Futurism in one of my media history-related courses, and my first thought was "Oh man, THESE are the people who'd be obsessed with Fight Club for all the wrong reasons."

They really HATE being called bigots, I've noticed.
