I like the implication that the witch in that movie only knew one spell, and just used it to sell things she'd turned into bears in her spare time.

Ew, wind-up Pick-Up Artists?
(I was trying to remember who Pua was and a google search was not helpful)

I'm starting to worry that maybe the people we need to convince don't understand satire.

Does anyone know off the top of their head what the evolutionary advantages were to being white? Pale skin just seems to make you more sensitive to sunlight.

I think the idea here is less about the specific labels we give various kinds of bigotry and more about the importance of separating casual, everyday racism at an individual level from entrenched social dynamics that actively favor one kind of racism in particular.

Wouldn't reverse discrimination just be… equality? It really says something about these people's mindsets that to them, the opposite of racism is different racism.

This is because the primary point is that rounding up any group of people based on their statistical trends instead of individual actions is a bad idea.

That's not to say examining instances of classism isn't a useful thing to do, since all the -isms are pretty interconnected, especially race and class.

Who saw the Infinity Train pilot? What do you think? Hope it gets made into a show? It looked like it had potential.

This looks like David Willis's art back when he was conservative and not that good. Weird.

I mean, every episode technically ends with the Island Song, although I don't think islands are actually brought up in the lyrics.

Wubba lubba dub dub!
…wait, wrong show.

But what would become of Ronaldo's blog?!

It was funny how in Andy we had a character actually show a normal level of distress to a small, 14-year old boy being casually thrown into mortal peril so often.

Was gonna say this. It's important to recognize when someone is so far gone they're not worth the effort trying to bridge the gap between, but it's better to err on the side of making SURE that's the case before just shutting them out. So often the "sometimes people are just jerks" sentiment gets brought up it seems

They're fine with spelling her, they just don't know when to stop.

I though they meant he "didn't like the answer" as in it was the wrong answer.
