I checked it out primarily because I like Ryan North's writing style. It's extremely casual and conversational, with lots of asides and mouseover text (even the physical book had hidden text at the bottom). I think it's fun, but others might find it grating.

Oh wow. I read that first comic because Ryan North's first Squirrel Girl volume had it at the end, and I was really struck by how bizarre everyone looked. Didn't realize that was his art, because I was under the impression he could at least draw well enough to trick people into thinking he was good. That was just

He's occasionally nice to that guy who laughs at all his jokes.

So Boo Boo got a little older, does that mean Louise got older too? How old was Boo Boo when she first saw him?

It's the same great "so natural we're not even gonna make a big deal out of it" approach that I love about Steven Universe. Both shows don't do anything to act progressive other than depicting a slightly kinder world, and showing how easy it is to live in.

Boo Boo really likes mixing up orifices. Whisper in your eyes, tears in your ears…

Y'know, it occurs to me Jimmy might be jealous of Bob. His business may do a lot worse, but he has a loving family that he's happy to be with. Jimmy can't seem to appreciate his own family, and the idea that someone else so clearly INFERIOR to him can be happy having something he can't enjoy must feel mocking to him.

Ants like Nobody's Watching

"Mixed with an actor mixed with an artist mixed with a model."

I loved all of Boo-Boo's expressions as he just awkwardly watched Louise yell about how he was like a piece of candy with hair.

Whoa, which episode was that?

Yeah, I mean, I'm pretty idealistic myself, but if I were running a business I wouldn't be too proud to take advantage of outside circumstances if it lead people to my restaurant.

If, at any point in the show, they had portrayed Jimmy Pesto in anything resembling a sympathetic light, it might have worked, but I just can't feel sorry for someone like him. Jimmy didn't "need" this, his restaurant is doing fine.

I actually forgot there was an opening this time. I went back and re-watched it, and still didn't understand it. I think I'm a lost cause.

Oh! Didn't know that. Well, that feels seasonally justified.

Oh man, remember when Disney, as a prank, said they'd replace their iconic castle with the one from Frozen?

I was unfamiliar with the more figurative meaning of "scalping." I was expecting something more horrifying when I clicked the link.

Yeah, what they actually mean is that they're letting their childhood ruin stuff they could potentially enjoy in the present.

Wow, that was a real a-boat-face.

I think you just have to sort of imagine whoever you're talking to is crying because of all the sick burns you did in them. Which is convenient, because I can imagine people crying and the people can't really stop me.
