Considering the first memory he got back was Waddles, I'd say it was more "the power of annoyance."

They established through McGucket that even the most damaged of minds can eventually get their memories back, and they did it in a way that was sweet and funny. A sad ending would've been strong, too, but I think in this case it worked better to have Stan come back.

The last episode of Gumball I (re)watched was "The Hero" and it actually made me cry. I was just wishing Gumball did more emotional stories like that, and then I see this. Thank you.

So, what was everyone's least-expected returning character? I did not expect Larry King's Disembodied Head to make another appearance, even though the cryptogram foreshadowed it. It just seemed like such a ridiculous character to bring back only in a finale.

But I thought that was French for "I don't actually know French." This is such a nuanced language.
