I don’t see how CAFE is making pickup trucks more appealing to buyers than compacts. The manufacturers are making pickups more appealing because that’s where their profit center is. Don’t blame CAFE for that. CAFE already bent over backwards to accommodate the domestic car makers and their pickup trucks.

What? There are a lot of small trucks around. In fact, fuel economy standards brought us the 4 cyl truck.
