20-30 bucks won’t even buy you one fill-up. Average driver will burn through at least 2.5-3 tanks per year...

Also, while you calculated the time it would take to get your money back in fuel, you didn’t consider DEF.

It may be rated at 39, but I’m sure it’ll do a lot more if driven efficiently. While the same can be said for the gas, there are probably more mpgs on the table with the diesel... Plus, a diesel buyer is more likely to know how to or want to drive efficiently than the typical crossover buyer.
