I think Twitch just wants to be a place where people stream things, people watch things, and they get a cut of the proceeds.

“Didn’t have to compete”—and there’s a piece of the puzzle. The people calling for bans on hot tub streamers (or any streamers, really) are anti-capitalism and anti-liberty. Full stop.

And if viewers tune in for it, why not? Let the audience choose what they want to support.

EXACTLY.

See, this is why people need to embrace the idea of liberty for all. Don’t work about “the platform”. That’s not your job. Your job as a streamer is simple: delivering engaging content that viewers want to tune in for. Stop trying to police others. You don’t have to like what they do, just like they don’t have to like

Cultures never fully break out of traditions. But the bright side is that cultures and traditions do evolve, generally (though not always) toward a better dynamic.

Capitalism isn’t the problem. We don’t even *have* capitalism. What we have is cronyism, or if you prefer, corporatism. They are not the same thing.

That’s true, but it’s also only a surface level analysis. The deeper issue is that people see something they don’t like or disagree with, and actively work to have that thing banned/outlawed/criminalized. It’s a theme that’s constant across borders, genders, and political or philosophical associations. People from all

Not dropped, for sure. But largely mediocre, with most of its uses feeling tacked on. I've never found the touchpad on my ps4 controller to be fun or compelling in use, and when games allow it, I turn it off.

I'd say the cell processor was a D- for effort. Overly complicated, overly expensive, and paired with a paltry 256MB RAM with another, separate 256 for the gpu, it was largely a development disaster.

The fact that you can be playing a game in full hd on your tv, with detached controllers, then pop them onto the unit, pull it out of the dock and take that same game with you without missing a beat IS the innovation. It is well implemented and, as the saying goes, “it just works”.

The only innovative feature of PS5 is the dual sense capabilities. That’s *it*. Otherwise, PS5 is only a faster, uglier PS4.

What’s nice, though, is that if your phone supports HDMI out (whether over usb-c or lightning), you can Bluetooth pair an Xbox one or series controller, load up the app and play on a tv or monitor at up to 1080p. Works great, provided you have a decent internet connection.

They have tons of great games on Xbox platforms. Your comment is fanboy nonsense.

Yes, but given the site we’re on, that’s because you’re a nerd. And I don’t say that with derision, but respect. I’m as nerdy as they come myself :D. But we’re not the average consumer, nor even the average gamer. Most people want to plug it in, turn it on, and play. Consoles make that easy, PC’s don’t (and don’t even

The thing about serialized storytelling in television, and especially in Star Trek, is that if you do it as “A ten hour movie!”, you’re doing it wrong. Tv shows are a distinct format from movies, and shouldn’t follow the movie model, for the same reason that movies should not adopt the training times of seasons of

How about a Picard series that DIDN'T have an Earth with slavery based on Data knockoffs, or p people living in trailers in the middle of the desert on EARTH, a place Star Trek has ALWAYS regarded as having no poverty.

Star trek was NEVER about social justice in the sense an SJW proposes. Instead, it was about an idea that humans would learn to deal with each other in a more thoughtful way, and approach problems primarily through the application of reason and compassion rather than blasting people to smithereens from the word go. It

Current Star Trek is ANYTHING but hopefully or optimistic, much less thoughtful. Picard was a dumpster fire, and that’s being generous. The closest Discovery has come to a good season is the second one, and that was thanks to spock and Pike being interesting characters.

There is a tendency among people, from pretty much any walk of life you can imagine, to think, “Hey, X works for me, and I like it, so therefore X will work for EVERYONE, and they’ll like it. And if they don’t, something is wrong with them”.
