So they’ll make it a hybrid, automatic/cvt transmission, put some stick on bodykit/spoiler, charge an extra $5k for it, and call it their Type S version. Is that about right?

I definitely concede the the child seat thing, since you don’t have to bend over to do it. But as for the ingress/egress thing. When I watch my mother have to wrench herself into her Wrangler by grabbing the door frame and steering wheel like she’s climbing a ladder and my mother in law do the same with her Ascender,

I hear the high driving position argument from family constantly. I personally think that is because “everything” else on the road (like pickups and SUVs) are ginormous now. So in order to not feel like you are going to get squished you need a tall larger vehicle to compensate.

Didn’t realize these were liftbacks. They definitely don’t advertise this feature. But even still, not like an A5 or BMW GT are cheap to buy either.

2nd Gear: I’m convinced it’s a self perpetuating problem. As vehicles get bigger and taller, people feel the need for something bigger and taller response. I don’t know how many family members I’ve heard say things like.. “I like being up high”, or “When I drove my old car [sedan] I got nervous, I felt so small on the

Sure, Volkswagen cheated emissions on millions of cars worldwide, but nobody really seemed to care. They’re still buying VW’s cars.

If only we still had liftback sedans like we used to in the 80s.

Plus the unrealistic expectation that you can increase year or year into infinity. Somehow, somewhere, somebody failed math class.

(sarcasm)

I’m mid build on my machine. Started it back in the summer and life got in the way and I had to put it to the side. I started working on it again end of last month. It’s currently sitting at 90% done and I’ll finish it this month.

First of all it’s part of the basic driving test. You have to pass this skill to get a license for crying out loud.

If more citations were issued for people who can’t keep it between the lines or parallel park, people who’s skills are poor at it, would get better in a real hurry. This just gives those people an excuse

Glad it works for you. This model wouldn’t work for me. I drive 45+mi each way (90 miles total) to work everyday down a rural midwest highway. The only charger in the town where I work is “1" at a hotel by the interstate 10 miles from work. And no my company won’t even repave the parking lot and has a leaking roof.

This...

Had them on my 500 Abarth until it was retired from winter duty (one season was enough), and I now have them on my XJ. Great snow tire for the money.

Because physics... I’ve done the same thing with a Suzuki Sidekick with semis here at work. Not to mention liberating many stuck Tahoes and Suburbans from a snowy ditch with my 80hp/90lbft of fury.

I laughed.

Nopeity, nope, nope, nope, nope... Hate almost all hues of blue on a car. Especially the lighter, baby blues and the pale blue grey/silvers. The only color worse is Gold/Champagne. A very dark blue can be tollerated as can a very saturated bright medium blue, but even then, in both cases, I’d rather have another color.

I like the way you think. Purple is my color!

Yeah, About the same. I live out in the country. My driveway is about 550ft long so a round trip to the mailbox is right at a 1/4 mile. So, like you, when I head out somewhere I drive unbelted to the box, hop out, grab mail, hop in, belt up, and then head wherever I was going. Or in reverse when i was coming home.

I literally said this last week on another post and got roasted for it. “you drive your car to your mailbox? You lazy &*^%er”.

But I’m with you. I’d pay money to disable the seatbelt warning chime in my Fiat. I’m fine with the light being on, but I want the buzzer to die a fiery death.
