Is it wrong that I kind of hate the consistency though? Like, every other Nintendo character gets to get stylized and look a little different from game to game, but Mario is more or less unchanging. It makes me miss the wild art-style shifts in most of his pixel outings.

Like, I always love when someone comes up with either a high-tech or high-fantasy setting and somehow thinks it means there would be no transgender people.

If anything there would be more because either through tech or magic, it’d be a whole hell of a lot easier than taking HRT and dealing with other people’s bullshit

So, like, I’ve only been tabletop roleplaying for a short time compared to most, (started in 2014), but I feel like “racial” strengths and weaknesses are much more interesting when it’s something that opens up gameplay or roleplay opportunities as opposed to just stat changes.

There is far too much real-life baggage

I think my biggest gripe about it is that it doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily.
Like, it’s only a single syllable longer, but being three words makes it more awkward to say. And starting with “Like” will make for some awkward sounding sentences when talking about it.

Especially given the recent moves Florida has been making against trans individuals. There’s a non-negligible number of trans or genderqueer speedrunners, and who knows what new evil measures Florida might have implemented by January at the rate they’re going.

Even under the 1st Amendment, speech that is meant to incite people to violence is absolutely NOT protected. Even without any further restrictions, the kind of things happening on KiwiFarms would be able to be lawfully restricted because of the danger it posed to human life.

That’s true, but also, I guess I don’t really feel that every game really needs to fully reinvent itself or make massive leaps forward to still be an enjoyable experience?

So yeah, like, the bugs and all that are shit, and should get fixed up, but like, there’s nothing inherently wrong with being a “comfort food” game.

As someone who has loved the series since SR2, SR2022 is basically just... more Saints Row, and I am totally fine with that.

I feel like a lot of the people trashing it have some sort of rose-tinted memories of the older SR games, or expected them to continue the level of craziness in SR4/GOH even though they

Visually it’s not bad, but like, a plain oval course (even with the fork on one side) is... kinda boring.

The thing is though, that although the sea parts of AC4 were really fun, I think it actually helps that they were tempered by having the land-based gameplay alongside it. The sea fortresses were some very fun things, making your approach by sea, disabling cannons, taking out defenses, and then finally making your

I think what bothers me most is like... why do we need an environment with photorealistic textures and natural-looking plant life? Our first exposure to Sonic was with colorful cartoony worlds and geometric palm trees and the overall cartoony look of Sonic himself just doesn’t vibe with his environment.

Why can’t we

On the other hand, we already have proof that the concept works. This is the entire basis of every single Jackbox release, where players use their personal screens (phones/ tablets/ web-browers) as controllers to play a game on the main screen. The Intellivision people just kinda quarter-assed it because it costs

Like, the idea of a game console where all the controllers have their own personal screens is something that could result in some super interesting things-- it’s basically the whole concept that drove Gamecube / GBA connectivity for Pac Man vs. and Four Swords Adventures -- but it sounds like this entire thing has

Oh yeah, we’re making such hard fucking demands like, “Please sir, I’d like to be able to make my own choices about what I’m doing with my own body” and “Hey, maybe take a stand that wanting to murder people like us simply for living our lives is wrong” Such terrible things to demand of any company and any person.

Jesu

I think the real differentiation is that Zelda games are generally more signposted than most Metroidvanias. The hallmark of many of them is getting a new ability and then having a variety of new things to explore that gives the illusion of non-linearity as multiple options open up, whereas Zelda games tend to tell you

It’s the second-largest city in NY, and though may not have the highest percentage of Black residents compared to closer destinations, the area he targeted in particular is a mainly Black neighborhood. The college I went to is right down the street from that Tops, and it still feels kind of surreal.

I mean, yes? That IS kind of the point of Antitrust laws.

When a single company gets so powerful that they more or less dominate the market they are in, that tends to cause bad things both for the suppliers they work with and the consumers that purchase from them.

The argument from Wolfire isn’t entirely without

This.
My fondest memories of L4D / L4D2 aren’t because of the game itself, but because it brought myself and 3 friends together for a fun romp. There was enough downtime between stressful parts of the game that it was the perfect hangout game. That balance of high and low tension is what L4D nailed perfectly.

Right. The C-buttons would have been used to control the camera.
Thumbstick would be for movement, A-button for jumping, Z-trigger for firing. Morph Ball might get mapped to B, and then use R to cycle through missiles / super-missiles / power-bombs / normal beam. Might have to spare one of the C-buttons for a “lock on”

Man, the ending to Dark Dawn was bullshit, because I was like, “Oh no, they’re doing a cliffhanger ending again for another sequel” and then the sequel never came.....
