How does anyone look at this “game” and decide “Damn, I don’t get enough of being exploited by the rich in real life, better also do it in a video game”.

I mean, by the end of any given Kingdom Hearts game, Sora is probably rolling in Munny, right?
Yeah, it’s like, getting more than double XP because you slapped a consumable sticker on your ride makes the entire thing more bearable, but I’m not about to pay actual money for more stickers. They should really be earnable from some of the daily / weekly tasks, or purchaseable with tickets at the minimum.
Surprise new Fire Emblem?
I’d love to see the Binding / Blazing sword duology get remade, but I’d hate to lose the stylish, over-the-top animations. The GBA Fire Emblem combat animations are still my absolute favorites.
I’ve noticed some of the frame drops on distant pokemon, but I’ve been having more than enough fun with the core of the game itself that it hasn’t affected my enjoyment at all.
Also, some people need to go back and actually play a PS2 game sometime and remember just what they looked like before comparing modern games…
I’d just like to have main characters that I don’t entirely despise the entire time? I get that the point of what they’re going for in GTAV is that Michael and Trevor are just kind of bad people, but of the three protagonists, Franklin was the only one I didn’t outright hate by the end of the game. (I felt he kinda…
I think the main issue though is that they basically peaked with the formula at World Party and haven’t been able to improve upon it since. And World Party was 20 years ago at this point.
The problem that arises though, is that you’ve simply moved the burden of trust from the data to the server processing the data. The server that runs the game still needs to be hosted somewhere, and even if you trust the data stored on the blockchain, who’s to say that that server program that results in changes to…
Alright, but it’s not the “persistent elements” going offline that take a game down. Without the server software, it doesn’t matter who is storing the character / account / inventory data, the game still isn’t going to work.
One of your arguments seems to be that someone else could come along and use that existing…
I played it a bit last night, and the foundations are there for something good, but being Early Access, it clearly has a ways to go.
My thoughts so far:
Good:
- The aesthetic is great. I love the 70's retro-futuristic vibe on everything, and it works well with a level of stylization that means it won’t look outdated…
On the one hand, I’m hopeful that this kind of gives a kick in the pants to Activision-Blizzard as a whole and shakes up the culture there to improve the working conditions so I can like... be interested in their games again.
On the other hand, continued consolidation in the hands of the hardware makers is not a super…
Thanks. <3
I at least have the good fortune to live in a state where merely living my life isn’t likely to become illegal anytime soon, and I’ve noticed things slowly improving here over time (a nearby town who just 10 years ago had people trying to toss LGBTQ books out of the local library had its first Pride last…
I haven’t gotten to the point yet where I’m getting death-stares in public, since I just started HRT in the middle of last year, but like, it took me YEARS to get to this point because of the sheer terror of merely existing in a world where a good portion of society would love to see me end up dead in the gutter.
Then…
I don’t know if Avalon is any better, but the problem we found with Resistance was that it seemed like nearly any game we played of it wound up coming out similarly because there’s almost always a “correct” move to make.
Secret Hitler has a slight bit of randomness in the policy draw, and the extra uncertainty of not…

I got Great Ace Attorney Chronicles from a Steam Gift card I was gifted for Christmas, and also a friend gave me Chicory, so I’ve been playing through both of those now that I’m through the FFXIV:Endwalker story.
I mean, in the view of capitalism and corporations, it IS a bad thing. Volunteering and doing something out of the kindness of your heart, or a drive to simply do something doesn’t necessarily drive profit, so it has no place there.
I heard this movie referred to as “The Gremlins 2 of Matrix Movies” before I watched it, and that really did change how I viewed it.
I think what ARR suffers from the most is that it has to set everything up and explain everything. You’re not starting as a powerful warrior, you’re an adventurer. They need to explain Hydaelyn, and primals, and the empire, and the beast tribes, and the ascians, and the Scions, and... there’s a LOT of groundwork that…
So I’m all for fighting against scalpers and all that, but I guess my major problem with this legislation is how the hell do you enforce it? The way the bill is written (assuming it is similar to the 2019 version), it’s punishing the act of circumventing purchase limits, but you can bet the bots that people are using…
I played the open beta a little bit ago, and REALLY wanted the game to be able to recapture the L4D magic again, but all it really did was make me want to go back and play L4D2 more.
I think aside from the random difficulty spikes, what disappointed me the most was the presentation at times. Have they made changes to…
