The announcement that it’s single-player only has me way more interested in it than I would have been otherwise. I’ll always take a well-crafted single-player narrative over a game that just goes on forever in some attempt to keep players buying microtransactions.

Oh, I don’t doubt that Sakurai gives them the same love and care that any other character in Smash gets, I guess it just feels, from the standpoint of someone that isn’t entirely rooted in 2D fighters, that it doesn’t seem “as creative” as say taking like, Mr Game and Watch’s different sprites, or Steve’s building

I actually really like the aesthetic here, keeping the color palette of the original for the map view for that nostalgic kick, while giving the battle animations a nice smooth look (but keeping the chonky vehicle aesthetics too).

It looks like a very pretty Advance Wars, which is all I could really hope for.

I’m sure Tekken fans are happy, but I still stand by the statement that adding an actual fighting game character is the least exciting addition to Smash.

Part of the fun of Smash is seeing how a character’s moves and abilities get translated into the brawler space, and with these it’s kind of just drag and drop...

To be fair, it’ll probably be easier to buy one of these than an actual Xbox Series X.

I get the gist of it, but it basically sounds like it comes down to “you either build your deck around these cards or you don’t compete” and also “I am an old lady who knows nothing about the Pokémon TCG anymore” XD

My last experience doing anything sanctioned with the TCG was in the organized Pokemon League back

I assume with the massive HP and damage numbers on these things, it’s going to be one of those “if your opponent plays this on the field, it’s time for you to scoop” moments.

I haven’t played the Pokemon TCG in a good number of years now, but we’ve come a LONG way from the Wizards days where nobody had more than 120

Looking forward to playing it once the PS5 is available for purchase in 2025.

Honestly, stuff like this is why I love the FFXIV team.

They may not always hit on the content sometimes (I think the Bozja storyline is good, but feel like the actual zones and content are kind of lackluster compared to what we had in Eureka) but they seem to really care about their players and community.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I know my biggest problem with it is that they don’t seem to know when enough is enough? Like, gunfight sequences are fine, but when I played through the original trilogy, I found myself in more than one instance exclaiming “wait, there’s EVEN MORE guys??”

And it wasn’t like, new enemy

A “Builders 3" with the ability to have a persistent world that friends can jump in and out of like a Minecraft world would be amazing.

Eh.. I was actually surprised to learn they had any of the other options available. FFXIV only has a 60-day time card too, along with the subscription options, so it’s not like it’s an unprecedented thing.

Honestly, I love the Agents of Mayhem universe, I love the characters, and the actual character specific and story missions were great. What was a pain about the game was pretty much all of the generic “organic events” that happened around the city, because they got repetitive FAST, and you had to do them to move

RE4 is the one remake they really need to take their time on, because RE4 is so beloved as it is. It makes me worry a little bit that they’ve taken a shift in direction on it, because it makes me wonder how big of a shift it’ll be compared to what they started with.

I think Warehouse 13 would have been a good backdrop for a game, but I think we’ve sort of got the same kind of premise with Control. Except Control goes way more on the creepy paranormal side with it instead of the campy banter side.

It’s like they painted themselves into a corner by deciding to go from the base XBox to the 360 (So they weren’t XBox 2 vs PS3), and the naming scheme is just degrading further and further with each iteration.

There’s not even a really good nickname for it. Xbox 360 got “The 360" and XBox One got “Xbone”, but what do

I watched this last night with some friends and spent most of the hour giggling my ass off. So many puns! So good!

Yeah, like, on the one hand, I get it. If ANY existing IP is going to work well as a co-op 4-player shooter, Metroid is the one I’d pick too. But stuff like Splatoon has shown that you can just take an idea and make a new IP and do a good enough job of it to get people to buy in. Sometimes it’s worth it to take that

Yeah, it really comes down to developer interest. Emulators are more or less labors of love, either of the games and system in question, or of the challenge needed to solve the problem and make it work. Unfortunately, a lot of the unique games on the original XBox either don’t inspire that kind of following, or were

I think sometimes being tied to an existing franchise isn’t always in a game’s best interest. Especially one like Metroid where fans had been hoping for a new game in the series, only to be presented with something unlike what they were expecting. Does it excuse the fact that people were kind of shit about it? Not
