Honestly, it depends on the mood I’m in. If I want something that I know will likely have a more or less upbeat story, and some interesting characters, I’ll go for a JRPG. If I want something with a really crunchy battle system and a whole lot of choices on how to make a character, I’ll play a western RPG.

RetroArch / Libretro has been working on physical disc support for a while now, although I think it’s very much still an in-progress thing. I know it at least supports PS1 at the moment though.

To be fair, Generations did release as a 3DS game a year before MH:World, and the Switch version is basically just a port.
I’d think they’d at least be making use of some of the lessons they took away from World, given that it’s been such a big success for them.

I wouldn’t expect much other than slight mentions or easter eggs (Like the Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate board game referencing Minsc). 5E takes place like over 100 years later from the setting of the original BG games.

What’s funny about this is that this isn’t even a new concept to Sony.
The PS2 could read PS1 memory cards so when you played old games on it, your saves were still viable.
And the PS3 had an adapter so you could copy your old memory cards to the PS3's HDD and keep them going there too.

Granted that the PS4->PS5

Wait, I thought Most Wanted was the Burnout Paradise-alike. (I had Most Wanted U back from when EA decided to support the Wii U for a month or two)

I thought I remembered Hot Pursuit just being picking races from a menu? Maybe I was wrong?

Honestly, if we look at SSBU as a “celebration of gaming”, putting in Minecraft representation is a no-brainer. It was literally a worldwide phenomenon, and continues to have enduring popularity to this day.

Also, Steve & Co. bring a moveset to Smash that is wholly unique and adds more possibilities to the game.

I think there has to be some sort of middle ground that can be reached here though, because both sides have decent points in this argument.

On Apple’s side, they do deserve to make some profit off of the creation and maintenance of the app store, just like a brick and mortar store should be able to make profit off the

Yeah, BC is definitely most useful for the “hidden gems” kinds of games. The ones that certain players will cherish, but don’t really get a big fuss overall. There were a lot of JRPGs on the PS3 that are stuck there now because there’s no other reliable way to play them. And they’re not ALL obscure titles either.

It honestly doesn’t matter whether she’s directly involved in the game or not, nor whether she’s directly making any profit from it. At some point a licensing deal was struck in order for this game to be made, and you sure as hell know she made money off of that. Purchasing the game only serves to show corporate that

I think a “Nintendo Edition” replacing the 360 games with the Nintendo-specific Rare games would be a great idea. Also get Battletoads & Double Dragon on there. Then it’s a companion piece to the original Rare Replay and not a replacement.

I’m guessing that NIS is not entirely ready for PS5 development yet, and since all PS4 games submitted from now on have to also be compatible with the PS5, they probably figured it was less of a headache to make it Switch exclusive rather than dealing with potential compatibility issues.

I’m glad we’re getting a Disgaea 6, though I lament the loss of HD sprites for the chibi 3D models. At least the 3D models look pretty close to the old artwork, but there’s just a certain crispness to the sprite animations that I worry will get lost in 3D.

I really like the amount of movement and speed to the combat shown in the trailer. The verticality looks like it will add a lot to things

Yeah, I never would have gotten into a ton of the series’ I did if not for being able to pre-order them from Gamestop. Both stuff like Persona, and things like Disgaea and the Atelier games from GUST. Now they’re all pretty much available everywhere.

It’s a little sad, but it goes to show just how much more gaming has

I used to be a loyal Gamestop customer back in the PS2 days, because there were still a fair number of games that would end up at Gamestop and pretty much nowhere else. Like getting ANYTHING from Nippon Ichi back then was either get it at Gamestop or get lucky with secondhand prices on something like eBay, or a local

Based on how hard Steam struggles to load the tiny icons every time when first scrolling through a library of roughly 800 items each day, I imagine it would completely break the Library view trying to get that many things in there at once.

It looks fun enough, but they really should have just kept the name at “Gods & Monsters”. Simple, straightforward, and to the point on what you can expect.

Given that the battle against Calamity Ganon was played up as a HUGE war, (which you can see remnants of across Hyrule in BOTW) it really does make sense that they would use a Warriors game to tell this story.

The Onechanbara games have always kind of filled that “b-movie” niche of “I don’t need a compelling story, just give me a decent combo system and a reason to slash up a bunch of zombies”. They’re really similar to the EDF games in that regard, except instead of slathering on layers of cheese, it’s cheesecake.
