From the standpoint that Atelier games tend to focus on smaller, more personal stories rather than world-shattering events, it might have some similarities, but the game systems and combat are really nothing alike.

Combat tends to be a weak point of the 3D Atelier games, with a somewhat simple battle system. Atelier

Ar Tonelico 1 and 2 are both great games with some excellent music, characters and worldbuilding, and I never really forgave them for Ar Tonelico Qoga being such a dumpster fire. I think GUST really had some issues moving from sprites into full 3D development, because their PS2 games are all good to great (Atelier

I mean, they turned the basic plot of Tomb Raider (2013) into a movie that wasn’t half bad, so you could definitely do the same thing for Uncharted.

Uncharted does have the problem of its characters being so memorable and distinct though. Nate, Elena, and Sully all look and more importantly, sound a specific way, and

A plain red shirt is admittedly also much easier to animate than one with a distinct pattern like that on it.

I mean. Nowhere in the trailer did anyone speak the words “Bravely Default Two”

I really hope we get a followup to Prey that’s more than just an expansion. It was the perfect amount of tension all through the game, thinking you saw something move, and then being entirely unsure of your surroundings. You could definitely mitigate it later with some of the powers, but it was still an overall superb

Mad Max was probably one of my favorite open world games of this decade. The car upgrades were fun, the game itself didn’t overstay its welcome, and the photo mode was absolutely great.

I really enjoyed AC:Odyssey, but what it was lacking to me was the final feeling of becoming an absolute unstoppable badass. At some point in the classic games, you’re so kitted out in health, equipment, and powers, that almost nothing can stop you anymore. The level scaling and nerfed assassination abilities in

I miss interesting console aesthetics in general. The Switch Lite at least comes in a small variety of colors, but the 3DS had a ton of color options. At least there’s some level of customization in the Joy-cons for the Switch but in general, your choice for consoles is whatever color you’d like, as long as it’s black.

Time for the unofficial Zelda II sequel.

I’ve kinda noticed that unless the raid is for a Gigantamax form pokemon, that getting other people to hop into it is spotty at best. Likely because most other raids are doable with the NPC support so people don’t tend to bother joining in.

So Overwatch 2 is basically the “Guild Wars: Factions” of Overwatch.

Technically a standalone game that interacts with the original Overwatch.

Honestly, it was probably to make 3D World distinct from NSMB because they’re not super different at first glance. It also saved them from having to do the legwork in creating the 3D World items / enemies in different aesthetics.

I think it would go over a lot better if they basically turned it into something like Minecraft Worlds, where you’re paying to keep the private server running even when you’re not online, as opposed to right now where it basically only exists as long as a paying customer is online. Then you could give friends access

As someone who has done a fair bit of crafting, the real MVP is Byregot’s Blessing going to a 100% success rate.

Nothing was more soul-crushingly devastating than having a high stack of Inner Quiet, then going for a 90% chance Blessing because you didn’t have enough CP for Steady Hand, only to have it blow up in your

You know, with all the things the Joy-cons can already do, I never actually stopped to think that they could increase the capabilities of the controllers using the charging rails to actually slot them into something. That opens up a lot of possibilities for different Switch peripherals.

So the Secret of Mana remake finally gets online multiplayer, kind of.

Probably a combination of the fact that Mario Maker was a brand new thing when it came out, and Mario Maker 2 is just an extension of that, and the fact that the Switch continues to get big games at a fairly decent pace.

Just since June, we’ve had Dragon Quest Builders 2, Astral Chain, Fire Emblem: Three Houses,

Now someone needs to mod it to Untitled Groose Game, where nothing else is changed, you’re just playing as Groose from Skyward Sword.

Other reports claim the artwork is based on the mobile versions, so they’ll all have a sort of DQ VI look to them.
I just really hope the encounter rate in DQ II has been toned down, because it was brutal.
