Super Mario World also completely holds up today. The platforming physics in it are simply some of the best. The New Super Mario Bros games are ok, but they don’t come close to being as good as Super Mario World.

Right? And for people who do these things regularly, you’ll get the excuse from people that so-and-so streamer is simply “putting on an act” to attract viewers, as if that’s supposed to somehow absolve them of any shitty behavior. I’m sorry, but if they’re going to act like an asshole just because they think it will

It looks fine. Functionally, the group thing is probably the best addition.

The normal battle music is okay in my opinion. Not great, not terrible, just... okay.
However, the boss battle theme is absolutely excruciating. It just sounds like a half-assed cacophony, and I absolutely hated every boss fight because it meant I had to hear it again.

I get that Dragon Quest thrives on tradition, but

This is weirdly the first time I’ve heard about this, but it sounds really interesting. Going to have to look into it.

Gotcha.
That makes me wonder why they didn’t just start with the second game, because it seems like it was basically the same game, but with more.

So is this just going to be a straight port of Monster Rancher with some slight changes?
Having only played Monster Rancher 2, how different is the first game?

So like the rest of the Tokyo RPG Factory catalog, they have a lot of interesting ideas, but can’t seem to stick the landing.

Actually, having The Boss and The Saints from alternate timelines as villains / allies could be pretty fun. They could even do the fun online thing and have it randomly pick The Boss from someone else’s game as the one that shows up in yours.

New Saints Row is good, but I’m not sure where they go from here story-wise. If they continue from SR4, the Saints basically have a time-traveling spaceship and can go wherever and whenever they want. The implication was that they would stop the Zin from destroying Earth in the first place, but it might be kind of meh

I have a sealed copy of NES Metal Gear somewhere because my grandfather used to sell video games in his shop in the early 90's, and it didn’t end up selling before the store closed. I already had a loose copy, so I just kind of threw it in a drawer and forgot about it.

I haven’t, no, but I also bought them in-person and got to look them over first, and he also offered to let me fire them up on an SNES he had nearby. I haven’t opened them up to see what’s actually inside. I should do that sometime.

I own a couple repros, mainly of things I’d never be able to find in the wild for a decent price. SNES Dracula X, Pocky & Rocky 2, etc. However, the seller was extremely upfront about them being reproductions, and had them labeled as such, next to the actual old SNES games he was selling. I buy the games so I have a

I went with Black Eagles not for Edelgard, but for Dorothea and Bernadetta. I love Dorothea’s “fuck the nobles” attitude, and Bernadetta’s supports are pretty hilarious too. I will say that Edelgard has turned out to be a much deeper character than I assumed she would be though, and I haven’t even gotten to the really

Speaking as someone who only occasionally streams things between friends (and therefore has no special Twitch status at all) I’ve noticed that Mixer does seem to have much less latency between what I’m seeing and what the stream is seeing. It means that we can actually talk about what happens in my game without them

I haven’t tried going back to Furrowfield yet, just in the middle of Khrumbul-Dun at the moment. I would definitely be down for a Builders game based on Dragon Quest 3. Need to build a magnificent Alltrades Abbey.

I really enjoyed the first Dragon Quest Builders, but was a little miffed by the “start everything over” aspect of each chapter. The second game handles this a lot better by having the “hub” island that you can continue to improve between the adventure islands, and actually gives you goals for each section of the

Lack of Adventure Sync kills my desire to go out and play it. I can make progress on Pokemon GO without even opening the app just by having my phone on me, but HP requires me to keep the app open, and sacrifice my battery to the elder gods in order to make any progress hatching my Wizard Eggs.

But have you pledged fealty to the Great Serpent of Ronka?

I wish they would come to a decision already on whether they want weapons to have durability or not. It was there in Awakening, out in Fates, out in Echoes, now back again. I personally enjoyed the system in Echoes where you had a basic weapon always equipped, and the higher-power weapons generally had tradeoffs like
