Modern day Dragon Quest games have had some of my favorite localizations, because a large amount of care goes into them. You get a feel for characters’ personalities based on how they speak, even if they’re not voice-acted. Also, the glorious, glorious puns.

So how did Shazam do in Japan then? It still kind of fits the “kids want to grow up and be adults” theme because he literally transforms into Zachary Levi when he activates his powers, but in his heart, he’s still a young kid, and Levi does a great job of playing a kid in an adult’s body. It’d be interesting to see if

First they made Pokemon GO to get people outside.
Next they made Pokemon Sleep to get people to get a restful night’s sleep.
I’m waiting for the Pokemon-branded version of MyFitnessPal to show up, because by god, Nintendo is going to make us goddamn nerds healthy yet.

The biggest change they’ve mentioned for DRK is the removal of Dark Arts, and the DRK I know immediately cheered that decision.

From what I’ve spotted in the videos, they have AutoCrossbow, BioBlaster and Drill. I wouldn’t be surprised if the one with all the chains is AirAnchor either.
It’s too bad they probably won’t change their LB3, because I’d love to see the MCH LB3 end up as Chainsaw.

I can see it making sense if the new game is a major shift from the old series.
IE, God of War (PS4) is pretty much a new start for the series, with different combat, and a whole new setting, so naming it “God of War” instead of “God of War Numeral: Subtitle” makes thematic sense.

But I feel like the Call of Duty game

Modern Warfour.

Just as a random aside, anyone with an interest in the history of gaming should make it a point to stop by the Strong Museum if they ever find themselves with free time in the Rochester NY area. The arcade setup they have there is a massive nostalgia trip, and there’s a lot of cool things to see. The Giant Tetris

Sony has already done this once before with the Vita.

It can play PSP games, but only if they were A) originally purchased digitally, or B) imported via the Japan-only UMD Passport service.

Well, this is also of course, assuming that the PS5 uses optical media instead of opting for some sort of proprietary Sony solid-state format.
They’ve stated that the “not-yet-called-PS5" would be backwards compatible with PS4 games, but they haven’t as yet stated that it would be backwards compatible with PS4 DISCS.

Hopefully they can use the increased loading speed to add more interesting things to large open-world maps, instead of them being mostly empty filler that you skip over with fast travel.

It’s always fun to play “spot the loading zone”. God of War had the fast travel doors, as well as the Bifrost, plus I’m pretty sure that’s why all of the “quest” areas were gated off behind caves you had to slowly paddle the boat through.

And even then, if you moved too fast for the PS4, the action would pause and

Played it for about an hour last night, enjoying it so far. Love the snarky car computer. Shooting feels good, and I like that the shotgun can either be a short range cone or a targeted knockback. (Though it’s more of a force push than just pushing them back slightly). The area where you get it teaches you how to be

The Crowd Control software likely works very much like a live Game Genie, by altering values before they get to the “hardware” so would fall under the same umbrella.
That said, if Nintendo got pissed enough, they could probably shut down the streams of people actually playing emulated games on Twitch.

I’ve been playing through .hack//GU recently, so I can only read that title as butt-Labyrinth Life.

I never played the original Rage, but the thought of DOOM’s shooting combined with Avalanche’s open-world shenanigans got me to bite this time.

Now let’s see how long I can go with Tim Kitzrow shouting about everything I do before I turn that off.

If I recall correctly, there was some justification in using bottle caps as currency because they’re small and easy to transport, and there’s also no way to manufacture more of them, so there’s theoretically a limited amount. That’s why one of the quests in New Vegas makes a huge deal about there still being a working

This is actually what bothers me the most about this, weirdly enough.

Maybe the player just isn’t as good a mechanic as they think, and 10% of the caps shoved into the machine end up mangled or lost or something.

It’s a tough call because Saints Row 2 just had so much variety in it. Spraying poop on neighborhoods, starring in the Stilwater version of COPS, the destruction derby. It had serious moments, and it also had moments where you ride an ATV through a mall, and the line “I hear you got some broke-ass computers”.

But

I think the biggest issue with Starlink is that because they had to make sure the game was able to be completed with just a basic starter pack, they couldn’t really do things that pushed you toward using a specific pilot / ship / weapon except for in the side stuff. This meant that if you had a setup that you were
