The body style alone is the reason I as an enthusiast wouldn’t even look at the Si. The Sport hatch is too expensive and has too much shit for me to be interested, and isn’t available in a color I’d want. GTI it is. And I suspect I am far from being the only one with this mindset.

I mean, again, I point back to the Yaris. It’s perfect for what it is, so you know they’re capable of it.

So its irrelevant that the Sport Touring is a 29k car (it was in previous gen also), that doesn’t inherently dictate that the new SI needs to cost more, since it didnt in the previous gen.

The detail that you are Steve are missing is that the 1.5t sport hatch manual only comes in touring this gen, so its a 29k car. Last gen you could get the 1.5t with manual in just sport for 23k.

You can spend thousands more for an Elantra Limited than an N Line, despite being down more than 50hp and lacking the multilink rear suspension.

Yeah, I know. I’ve driven the previous-gen and it’s not awful, but wouldn’t be my choice. Either way, it’s unlikely a WRX will ever set wheel in my garage. Don’t like sedans, for one, and Subaru’s trim mix options will make it too expensive to get things like heated seats. So, pass.
