Depends heavily on the dealer. There are a few Subaru dealers nearby that are notorious for denying warranty work if they see a handheld tuner or an aftermarket exhaust. Conversely, there’s another Subaru dealer that organizes track days exclusive to owners who bought from them.

I mentioned this in another comment but it’s quite easy to find her social media accounts where she talks about the car running E85. Can you blame a dealer for denying warranty work on a modified fuel system?

I get it, it’s very nice to take a new car on the track. They’re smooth, comfortable, and reliable. I never had a single mechanical issue in a handful of track days.

I’ve always been of the mindset that you shouldn’t expect any sort of warranty work after you put a car on the track. I’ve driven cars with warranties at the track. I was fortunate nothing broke!

Florida, for one. They made me surrender my plates when I didn’t renew my registration (car was parked and non-running).

So, funny story... I found a stack of [BROKAGAIN] decals under my spare tire while I was preparing for autocross this weekend. If you really really want one, let me know. He gave them to me to give away while I was traveling, and I have maybe 10-20 or so left in various colors.

Here’s my version of British car ownership:

Detroit SCCA rallycross is like marathon running - anyone who does it will tell you about it. Okay, not really. But it feels that way sometimes!

You should still support the people who spent the time to make the design. Yes, it’s a simple design. It’s also simple (and cheap!) to click “Order.” If the little guy doesn’t get support, only the big guy remains. That’s not fun :-/

Made by Hawgee.

They could! In some rare cases, they do! But generally, they don’t.

And then people will complain that those keys will void their warranty!

My neighbor is a Raiders fan, and we’re 2000+ miles from Oakland. I asked him if he had any feelings about the move, and he said he was happy because (a) he has no ties to Oakland and (b) it will be even easier (and cheaper) for him to go to games now.

Ah, Matt Vasgersian. After a player got knocked out sliding into 2nd base: “Wait wait, back up the tape. Is that EMT Donovan McNabb?!”

Don’t give him such a hard time, you only #YOLO once.

Now playing

Congratulations to these fans (?), they’ve unseated this video as the most embarrassing MLS chant video:

Ever seen someone with cheap “switchback” LED bulbs in their turn signal housings? They flip back and forth between amber and white, and it looks horrible. It’s nowhere near as noticeable as a light turning on and off.

That’s a good question. Probably more of a freak failure than anything... but still a reminder that it can happen!

I’m with you 100% - Heck, I could afford to replace my DD and I still don’t love to autocross it. Of course... if I break something, I’ve got a backup.  I’ve seen enough people break stuff at autocross for it to make me think twice.

You mentioned Stef’s suggestion and then linked Subarus.

I need to make a suggestion that’s very against what Stef said - DO NOT rallycross your daily driver. In general, I support driving whatever you can. But a 16-year-old going to an event where you’re definitely going to break something you probably can’t
