I’m considering going from a BRZ to a Fiesta ST.

I will admit, if I hadn’t started tracking the car, I’d probably be disappointed. It’s a great deal of fun on the street too, but the car really shines when you get to throw it around some corners at speed.

I wish that was the same mindset so many critics of the FR-S/BRZ would take!

Maybe! But not necessarily. You can get a lot of interesting stuff for $8500. Besides, you’re talking to the wrong person. My last few cars have been a bit off-center (CR-Z, BRZ, Classic Mini) so you know I wouldn’t be picking up a Corolla instead.

In fact, in my mind this whole GTI package would be nice to have, although I need your help in determining if it’s $8,500 nice.

If you don’t have any friends that drive stick (why?!), it’s time to make more friends. If someone showed up at an event I was at, I’d jump at the opportunity to help them out. My old Honda was a proving ground for basically all of my friends to learn.
