I laugh all the way through it. Particularly the “Indians” who are clearly Japanese. (This is the joke. “We are... Indians. Don’t you think we look like... Indians?” Then they proceed to speak in Japanese.)

Let’s be honest: Ashley has essentially no live-acting experience. Seriously, look through her IMDB. In 2016 she is a background person in a youtube fitness video, in 2014 she has 2 seconds of camera time, giggling, in a youtube video, and before that? I guess she had some bit nothings as a child actor?
Of course voice actors are actors. But voice acting is also NOT the same as physical acting. I honestly don’t know what Ashley’s level is acting wise; I would love to see her in the role she’s spent a decade and a half creating. But objectively voice acting is not the same thing.
Ah yes, I do love how the comic franchise that is supposedly a metaphor for marginalized groups has no issue with letting a eugenicist and Nazi collaborator join the team.
Nah, Feige said that Boseman was their T’Challa. There won’t be a recast. IIRC they were supposed to start filming in Jan/Feb before everything happened so I think this push to next summer is to update the script
High republic era is just the new books and comics.... no mention of tv shows or movies related to that yet.
how the fuck do you for get Rian Johnson in that mess?
Kathleen Kennedy is responsible for The Mandalorian. If you want to blame her for the ones you don’t like, you must credit her for the ones you do.
You should be yelling at Abrams, who screwed over Star Trek and then Star Wars. Never let him near these franchises again.
I get the interactions that Mando is having now as he looks to get deeper into finding a Jedi, what I don't want this show to do is try and track down all the clone wars characters for a what are they doing now thing. Ahsoka makes sense to find (sort of) but let Mando do his own thing.
I find the popularity of this kid’s show with adults to be a bit much. I find Disney’s guerrilla merchandising and treatment of their workers a bit much. But, I’m not from this planet so everything on your planet is a bit much.
“These two are fighter pilots? Doesn’t that typically rely on a younger, fitter crowd?”
Anybody else finding the side character cameos to be a bit much by this point?
Im excited for the show to come out. I loved the series so much, it’s my favorite series. I hope they do the books justice. I’ve been following updates of the show and it looks like it will be amazing.
And the way the one power was described as a flowing force. Fans of the books will recognize what they were going for there immediately.
After feeling emotionally crushed by the nonfiction I was stuffing my face with earlier this year, I’m re-reading WOT for the third or fourth time right now (depending on how you frame it) and am currently midway through book five. While it was a slog reading them through the first time, waiting years between releases …
i could be wrong, but if they were being smart they’d have released at least one this summer, another over the holidays, and another next spring, digitally/drive-ins. they ought to be thinking at least a bit about maintaining/rewarding their fans, a thing which contributes to future ticket sales. i am sure i am not…
I’m just now finishing the debate, and yes Welker did a very good job. Cheeto’s team must have tranquilized him in order to make him so... not insane-looking for most of the time. He used that better debate discipline to spew lies and spread unhinged conspiracy theories, but we all knew that was going to happen. Now…
When it comes to well placed references, I think The Mandalorian did it better than any of the films.
