Feel free to post a link to back up your assumption, I have experienced this with my last Macbook. I live in Edinburgh, closest Apple Store was in Glasgow (50 miles away) I had to drive 15 miles out of town to a 3rd party since Apple would not collect and return. If this has changed then please prove it.

Well unless they have decided to upgrade their warranties in the UK, my last Macbook had to be driven 15 miles to a 3rd party for repairs under warranty as my closest Apple Store is 50 miles away. Anyone with any actual facts to convince me, feel free to post a link.

If you live near an Apple Store - otherwise you get screwed. Every other manufacturer will collect and return your laptop for repair, with Apple you have to take it to an Apple Store.

Just buy more RAM and stop obsessing over saving something you should be using.

You're thinking of XP and Vista, it is available by default on my fresh install of HP.

And you don't need 7 Pro - Home Prem as it too.
