The scene that Kotaku is using to represent homophobia in Persona 5 is not such a great example. Yeah, it falsely portraits LGBTQ as a bunch of perverts but putting anyone (male or female, old or young) in a similar situation would make them look like creeps.

What about neutral thumb D-pad placement? Really depends on the type of games you play. I mostly play JRPGs (or other menu heavy games), fighters and 2d platformers on the Playstation. I actually prefer this D-Pad / joystick placement.

Could be simply by having a setting that is less relatable to people. As in GTA Vice City that is more about mafia and organized crime compared to San Andreas or GTA 5 that feels like they are making fun of regular people.

That is to be expected when you name your remaster/remake the exact same name as if the original never existed.

Heck, I did not even bothered finishing the game. The main issue with most open world games like that is that you can’t help yourself from exploring everything and end up burning yourself out because the content has to be repetitive since there is so much of it.
