Well, sure. There’s a lot of pent up rage in the average chess club.

That’s a lot classier than my usual response to red state buffoonery:

It generally seems to be both knees.

Is it assassination if we get together to send Justice Kavanaugh a barrel of Irish whiskey and let Boof’s liver take care of the rest?

Blame Charles Dickens, with a side of Walt Disney.

For the same money we could just send “Boof” a couple barrels of Irish whiskey and let his liver take care of it.

Something to keep in mind for military tear gas exposure is that it’s at most once a year for  few minutes.  Like if you took a shot of whiskey once a year and didn’t report any hangovers.  It’s an absolutely true experience, but also completely different from someone guzzling a fifth of the same booze.

I don’t have a very good perspective on Belgium (it seems nice enough), so please forgive me if I state something obvious.

The article states that the nurse makes $70 per hour. An IV takes maybe 15 minutes if you’re going slow. Even if the nurse gets to charge a full hour for any portion thereof, they’re claiming over 2/3 of the cost for simply booking the appointment.  You should not rely upon your imagination when data is available.

To give you an idea idea of how much these little Boof Kavanaughs are gouging for their entirely unskilled services, an IV kit for Lactated Ringer’s (electrolytes, great for mitigating hangovers and keeping my elderly cat alive) costs about $20.00USD retail including home delivery.

I took the liberty of looking him up on wikipedia to see why such a... “temperamentally unsuitable” individual would be assigned to a media-facing position. He appears to be undergoing cancer treatment, which messes with emotional regulation (and HR’s discretion). Doesn’t mean that he’s not an asshole, but he might

The standards don’t seem very high (they let me in), but the military rejected 80% of all applicants in 2014. The army estimates that 71% of the general population aged 17-24 is ineligible under current standards.

Most recruits are still in high school. If you’re going to brand teenagers for life for saying dumb stuff online then none of them will ever be employable.  You’d also be depriving clueless young people burdened with their parents’ stupidity of the opportunity to leave West Podunk and actually meet brown folks -

She wasn’t being paid.  The designers made that abundantly clear when their attorneys asked her to stop.

I think that you’re right on all of those points, but these folks aren’t rational actors. Where you see right and wrong, they only see weak and strong.  Admitting fault would demonstrate weakness in their eyes, so they must always double down when called on their nonsense. It’s working out as well as one might expect.

Counterintuitively, Georgia does not appoint replacement representatives. There would be a special election in which Stacey Abrams would stop by to say hello. Which might explain a bit.

I dislike the fact that I actually get where Ted Cruz is coming from on the Pallet-O-Soup. See, some folks are born as selfish, deliberately clueless drains on society, but Ted - Ted works at it. He puts in really long hours sowing FUD, soliciting bribes, and convincing Goldman Sachs that it’s still worth their while

I’d still want to see the back to confirm that.

Has he tried bananas and something shiny?

It took me a long time to be able to look at things through a “conservative” lens (it’s uglier and stupider than beer goggles), but I can sort of do it if I hold my head at an uncomfortable angle and squint. This is how I understand that they see things:
