@visualpurple: I second this. This is the way I learned to play guitar. I would look up my favorite songs on ultimate-guitar.com and jam away. Yes, some of the tabs are wrong, but, if you have a decent ear, you can tell and move on to a correct version (playing along with a song always helps). After getting a few

I tried out HootSuite briefly a couple of weeks ago. It does the job but I definitely like the UI and notifications of TweetDeck or Seesmic more and Twitterfeed gets the job done for tweeting blog posts. I'm more of a desktop app guy myself but it has merit.

@Jim Fletcher: With GV you get a pop up for SMS, an email for VM, and the phone rings when you get a call...How much more notification do you need?

Anyone who is having crash problems: An update is available in Cydia that fixes the error. Works great now!

@lostarchitect: Nothing changes with your phone except the ability to add jailbroken apps. All your other apps will be fine.

@gmerin: It strikes me as more of an AT&T decision than an Apple one. AT&T would basically get no money from any SMS messages sent with a Google Voice app out there (and that's money that they have to provide hardly any service for at all). It would also making a slightly less PITA to change providers by just giving

This whole thing is ridiculous to begin with. If AT&T had a problem with GV apps on the iPhone, they should have nixed them when they were first released. It's stupid that I can swap my SIM into my old Blackberry and get an app that the "revolutionary" iPhone can't even though I'd be using it on the same network.

Ever since my composition teacher in high school told me my handwriting, "Looks like that of a serial killer," I write in cursive all the time. I liked it better after that.

This is the chair I sit in at work. The one at home is a lot nicer but this one isn't too bad. The padding (in the armrests, back, and seat) is very thin making it uncomfortable for long periods of time but it's infinitely better than my previous office chair.

I've been using this guide by The How To Geek, sans AutoHotKey. I have Gmail set as my default email client so it works pretty well.

Yeah, because everyone wants to pay for downloads that are no more legal than when they were free...Somehow I doubt Adobe is going to say "Oh, they're paying *dollars a month? Hell, we're cool with them getting our $1500 software then!" There is no way to legitimize piracy and they shouldn't try. Hate to be the one to

@Gonzie: I think he was drawing a comparison to Ubiquity, only that this might be easier for non-"power users."

@Punch Rockgroin: I don't know. I signed up for a GrandCentral invite a long time ago, then again when GV was announced and I'm still waiting too.

VOTE: Macrium Reflect Free Edition

I'll continue to keep my ten foot radius of personal space free of the dirty appendages of strangers. Not much makes me more uncomfortable than someone person I've just met running at me with their hand extended.

@blash: Don't worry, even if it gets open to the public, I'm sure it will be "beta" for five years. LOL

@gerrrg: I have it running on my Inspiron 1318 with intel x3100 and windows 7. If you have windows 7 installed you'll have to reinstall the Vista driver as administrator to get it to work properly. The driver that came with windows 7 won't even let you open Boxee.

@David Hildreth: I'll take what I can get. I'm not trying to make masterpieces with my cellphone, just catch a quick video. Anything is better than nothing.

It's worth jailbreaking for me to get Cycorder and StatusNotifer back. I couldn't resist the urge to update to 3.0 so I lost them. Since Apple saw fit not to include video capture on the 3G, I'll be jailbreaking as soon as its available.
