It really depends on what you want to do. I’d argue an old Wrangler or Samurai isn’t very well suited to the high speed desert running that the top-spec RZRs are built for.

Those Tomcars START at $36k for a two seat model.
Why exactly? The Roxor is larger than a typical SxS, so it won’t fit on as many trails. The Roxor doesn’t come standard with lockers, like most SxS’s do.
The one pictured above doesn’t have the factory roll cage installed yet. They’re shipped with the cages off in order to fit in a crate. The cages are required by law (at least in my state all SxS’s are required to have them).
Having spent a lot of time in Taiwan, I absolutely would NOT daily a scooter there. I watched a lady get hit by a semi truck at full speed on one. The aftermath was very graphic, and she didn’t make it.
Yeah, I’ve been to Taiwan, and everyone there gets around the congestion problems by riding scooters, which are about the same or cheaper than this thing and have a lot more power.
I haven’t been to China, are these actually driven on the roads there? I have a hard time believing that 1200W is accurate, given that standard electric golf karts have at least 3X that much power.
You aren’t going to want to drive 30 miles with 1.6hp, if the 1200W motor spec isn’t a typo (and I suspect it is given their other performance claims). For reference, a 49CC Honda Metro scooter has 4.4hp, and tops out at about 30mph, a good 8mph FASTER than this.
Underbody rust in NW cars? Neither one of my Subarus have ever had underbody rust, and I take them up to the mountains all the time.
Shhh!!! I’ll offer $1500 and gladly take it off their hands.
I get offers to buy my Outback every time I take it into the dealer, but not from salespeople. The mechanics are the ones who always mention they want to buy it for themselves. I’ve been to several dealers in the area, and technicians at every one have mentioned they’d buy it if I ever put it up for sale.
I’ve found…
It should work about as well as a DustBuster or the like. Internal combustion engines are just complicated air pumps. A 1.6L VW engine idling around 1000 rpm is going to be pumping about 640 L/min or 23 CFM.
Not always. The board of directors is made of individuals ultimately representing shareholder interests. For example, the board of directors at the company I work for is comprised of various men and women from different companies in my industry. Sure, many are senior executives, but others are consultants or analysts…
I will readily concede that a single color RV is pretty unappealing:
But can they fly their yaks?
Where are you getting this $1000 pricetag? this is directly from their press annoucement:
I really think you’re overthinking this.
You don’t think that a glued-on glass panel is easier to replace than a welded-on metal roof? Or if the roof wasn’t replaced, then dropping the headlight and doing paintless dent removal across the entire roof surface? Replacing a piece of glass seems far cheaper to me.
The greatest benefit of solar panels like this is to trickle charge the 12V battery so you can run the HVAC fans for longer periods without draining the battery.
Why repair/replace it at all? Modern solar panels have well over a 20 year lifespan, but even if these did fail before that, it’s not like they did a whole lot to begin with.
