Yeah, Tesla whining about it seems petty, but I also think it’s stupid for a company to even try and predict the reliability of a product that isn’t really out on the market yet (yeah, there’s a few of them out with employees, but hardly mass market release).

Thank you for that totally relevant comment to the article.

That’s not being a dick, that’s a genuine question, and if all Subarus were like that, I’d say Subarus are crap.

I do all the time. I started out working in the field on industrial equipment, then moved into a design role on the same equipment.

Based off of what, exactly? Have you been in a gasoline fire?

About as often as Tesla fires, apparently. My point was that firefighters are better prepared for hazardous chemical fires than the article gives them credit for. The article came across as surprised that the firefighters handled the battery fire as efficiently as they did, but maybe that’s just my interpretation.

You act like firefighters don’t already see things like this all the time. Industrial fire calls happen quite frequently, and often involve much, much more hazardous substances than lithium batteries. Try extinguishing a silane fire sometime (silane is pyrophoric, meaning it instantly ignites upon contact with air),

No, they will be looking at the recovery information on the way to the accident via the computer systems in their truck.

This is the answer. We’re done here.

Which means that a third of the people driving around in new cars can’t just change the tire themselves. They have to take even more time out of their day, bring the car to the shop and spend an ungodly amount of money getting something done they could just do themselves if they had a spare.

My driver’s ed teacher took me on a steep gravel road and had me do several hard stops to show how ABS worked. It was pretty fun for 15 year old me to fishtail that very tired Mazda 626 around.

It’s not required here in Oregon, but it greatly reduces the astronomical teen driver insurance costs, so my parents made me take it.

I really dig Jaguar’s new nature-inspired design language.

Sure, but Felton quoted his own article wrong.

One of the other videos on his channel covers interior quirks, although they aren’t really that interesting.

The guy in the video doesn’t own the car, he’s a detailer installing protection film on it. He made these videos with the owner’s permission. In one of his other videos, he shows the front plate bracket, which hasn’t been installed yet.

You drive over 220miles in a morning? I barely drive that much in a week, and I use my car exclusively to get around (no public transit/biking/Uber/etc)...

I don’t, although I live on the outskirts of town where FM radio is spotty anyway. I have all my most common playlists downloaded to my phone, so if I’m in one of the few places in my state that doesn’t have LTE, it’s not an issue. Even Google maps will work without a cell signal as long as you started the trip before

Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it practical for many, many other people. I live in Oregon, and can pretty much get anywhere in the state in an EV thanks to the charging grid already in place, and its only getting bigger.
