I have never wanted a Volvo more badly than the -90 lineup right now.

Quick cash, I suppose.

Counterpoint: For short flights where you’re only on the plane for an hour or two and can pack light, you can get places incredibly cheaply.

COTD!

No, but lots of EVs have app-enabled HVAC control for two scenarios:

Damn, and here I thought my father in law found a great deal when he bought a 80k mile 1992 E30 convertible for $2k...

It sounds like the part breaking had less to do with the structural capabilities of the seat, and more to do with how he got in and out of the car.

I’m with Hyundai on this one. It clearly isn’t a “defect in material or factory workmanship under normal usage conditions”.

Those have to be the fanciest windows I’ve ever seen in a garage.

I know in Hawaii, local laws don’t allow the auto locks. They looked like they’d been removed from the pump handles at every station I went to. Really annoying.

I just wonder then why he did not do that in first place? Seems simple enough, is it not?

In their words:

Intellectual property does not travel with the person. If an engineer invents something proprietary while working at company A, that invention remains at Company A, even if the engineer moves to competing Company B.

You imagined wrong.

Charging a full EV overnight is fine with 120V as long as you do it consistently, and aren’t expecting to go from a dead battery to a full one. I know a Leaf takes 20hours to fully charge on 120V from dead.

Well, I attached Hawk’s own procedure to my post, so...

That is true.

I’d say California has one of the best electric vehicle charging infrastructures in the country.

This isn’t Ford’s fault (or any other EV maker) though. Standard 120V wall outlets in North America are only rated for a 15 amp current draw (sometimes 20 amps, but those aren’t as common).

The break-in procedure for Hawk HPS pads is sort of like that. You’re supposed to drive (forwards) up to 45mph and slam on the brakes. Repeat that a couple times, and the brakes will be smoking. Let them cool, and you’re all set.
