I’ve been playing this series in the background while I work. It’s relaxing listening to someone methodically put something together, and James’ banter about the object’s history and his own thoughts on whatever he’s working on keep me engaged. You don’t need to be actively watching the video to enjoy it.

Fair point, and that does get irritating at times.

It depends if you count the weekends. If you’re just counting the work week commute and you never take a week off: (40 miles/day)(5 days/wk)(52 wks/year) = 10400 miles/yr.

Or you could just live in semi-rural Oregon and pay no sales taxes and $40/year for licensing, with no vehicle inspections ever.

Most gas stations would be pissed if you just left your car at the pump for hours too, you know.

You’ll enjoy today’s episode of the Grand Tour then. ;)

Fixed that for ya.

Reliability aside, as the buyer herself suggested a Maserati Ghibli, that would be my pick. Several VPs at work drive Maseratis, and they definitely stand out in the sea of BMW 3-series, Audi A4s, and Benz’s everywhere else in the parking lot.

I don’t think the first post was saying the EPA is bad, just that FCA is banking on Trump neutering the EPA’s enforcement power, something he appears extremely likely to do.

I think it depends on the state/county/town.

My friend has a 911 S. He said a set of rear tires only last half as long as the fronts, and that a rear set was about $1500. Maybe this guy was only replacing the rears.

It has everything to build quality! It’s not a usable car without a functioning transmission. It could be the Mona Lisa of car interiors, but if it can’t move under its own power, it has completely failed in its purpose.

Because the fact that my coworker’s brand new needed a new transmission at 3000 miles still makes me leery of their current build quality...

I’m not saying the BMW is a better buy, I was just pointing out the 650i is a much closer car to the RC500 than an M6 would be.

My coworker’s new Cherokee needed a full transmission replacement (under warranty, but still) in the first 3000 miles of its life, so yeah, I’m inclined to agree with you.

Nothing at all, which is why I asked the question. With as great as they seem on paper, I’m wondering why I don’t see the Traverse pop up in comparisons more often. Maybe I’m just not looking hard enough, but everyone I know who wanted a three row SUV bought a Highlander or a Pilot. I don’t know anyone with a

yum.

Eh, she also has an irrational dislike of Korean makes. Both of us like the Outback, and while we don’t do any serious “off-roading” with it, we do take it up to the snowy mountains quite frequently, where the symmetrical AWD really shines.

Ah, exactly the sort of answer I was looking for, thanks!

Who cares if its body on frame when Broncos are only used for highway runs?
