Finding out that Theranos was founded in 2003 blew my mind a little bit. Who the hell was giving a 19 year old millions in funding for their startup? I don’t care if they go to Stanford - there is no 19 year old qualified to run a Wendy’s, let alone a biopharma company.

I’m a little confused by the “American sporting complex” in regards to the rest of the article. I know that Osaka has lived in the United States since childhood, but she is a Japanese citizen and the tournaments that she dropped out of are French and English, respectively.

I always found it to be a fun thought experiment to consider that if any dinosaur species had evolved to a human-level intelligence, we’d really have no way of knowing. Any evidence of a civilization would have been completely wiped out by natural geological processes by now. 

I know television reviews are more in line with the AV Club’s mission statement, but I’d love to see Jezebel’s thoughts on the PBS docuseries ‘Philly D.A.’ that is currently airing.
