I lose geek cred for not knowing there were books until after I watched it, or else I would have read them first. Some of the characters aren’t incredibly likeable on the show, but I found myself warming up to them within a few episodes. Except one, but I enjoyed disliking that character.

Agree 100%! I work from home and have been super strict about not buying things like clothes and shoes because I don’t need them. Same with makeup and lots of other fun stuff. Skincare is different. It’s health, self-care, and pleasure all at the same time.
