He’s also the only trainer that had encountered all the legendary and mythical Pokémon, can’t say the same for the others. His friends switches around so only some of them had shared his adventures but not all of them. Sure he may not have won, but he definitely had lead the richer life.

You live in Japan yet you do not understand why Ash loses in the end? The point is to teach children that losing isn’t a life-shattering event and that what matters is you keep getting up and you learn. He is also a little boy competing against vastly more experienced trainers.

Man, Japanese wrestling must have you

He’s never winning a league. But he’s already a Pokemon Master.

ive been giving it some thought and Ash-greninja losing to charizard makes sense. My logic is this Greninjas are generally glass cannons/ fragile speedsters and even with the powerup that the fusion provides ash’s is no different. This leads me into point two which is the huge weakness in the fusion. Ash himself, as

The whole point is the journey, what did you expect? Once he becomes pokemon master, that journey is over or wouldn’t make sense for him to continue as he normally would. At least he had a good team this season and a girl who legitimately has feelings for him. The series has at least grown in that way.

Y’all have your fun. But the pokemon anime is fucking relentless in its ultimate moral that it’s not about winning everything all the time, theme song be damned. It’s about trying your best, putting friendship and love over success, and getting right back up after you get knocked down. Ash consistently makes it to the

For whatever its worth, Ash did win the Orange Islands league. It may not have been a traditional league with 8 required badges built on the foundation of one of the video games, but it was a league none-the-less that he was able to make it to the final 6 on 6 battle and win.

Didn’t ash win the orange league?

We can’t all be Goku/Naruto/Superman/John Cena/etc.

Of course he lost. The entire show is predicated on his journey to become the best. If he wins then that journey is over. There’s no reason to have a show. It doesn’t become believable that he would lose in another tournament.

There are good losers and bad losers, the writer sounds like a bad one :D Ash clearly lost enough times to maturely know it is not the end of the world and he will come back stronger. This 10 year old always fights off against seemingly more experienced adults. He’s sure to get it some day.

wait, this is a “serious” article or did I miss the punch line?

I’m not psychologist but I would argue that if someone were to watch Ash lose the finals every time they would more likely attribute it to some innate status that ASH is destined to lose rather than losing and winning being a typical fact of life.

But Ash has won a championship. He was the Battle Frontier champion. They even offered him a spot in the Battle Frontier. He turned it down.

I stopped watching Pokemon when they did the new pokemons after 150. Good to know after all these years that the story of Ash has not moved much. Nevertheless, is being always #2 wrong? He seems to enjoy his time w various female companions and having a good laiz faire life w his pokemon yet achieving #2 place

So, what was that whole business in the second season? When Pikachu took down a dragonite, that wasn’t a league championship?

Why do you say that he is a looser? Didn’t he get silver? Is that not being good? There are very few people in the world that get an Olympic gold medal. Perhaps it is ok to teach kids that they do not have to be the best.

Disclamer: “I base these accusations on nothing, but here goes, mostly just for the funs”
I think

For the love of Arceus, nobody remembers the orange islands? a little trophy but a trophy after all

This is the kind of humility people should learn playing any game. Of course we can’t relate because people have become so fiercely competitive. Watching the Olympics recently you see how real sportsmen behave when they get the silver or the bronze - generally they are gracious in defeat and sometimes massively

Hold up. Is the Orange League or whatever not “official,” because Ash smoked Drake and won a trophy and everything. Seemed like a big win to me. What was that, season 3, right after Indigo League wrapped up?
