My Land Rover is too reliable

own a 940 turbo wagon.

I pretty much have all of my 18-24 year old friends in them, and guess what? they love them, they're about as cool as you can get in the hipster crowd. And everyone is a hipster anymore. They're not uncool at all.

Why is there so much talk of swapping it? This is a rare beast anymore. You can find a wagon 240 with a run-of-the-mill B230F for A LOT cheaper than this....and then you can leave the manual diesel combo to me :-D

This may just tempt me from another Saab.....

I always thought for some apparent reason that it looked like a Zygote. I don't know what a Zygote looks like, but I always think Skoda=Zygote.

+1 for saab, esp. the prop plane logo.

How about the old ZIM/GAZ/Volga reindeer? Majestic.

Well, what it doesn't have is looks....except the face of a guppy swimming in the Chernobyl exclusion zone. Same colour too. Dang Caesium.

Treat the car as a glass-that doesn't mean drive painfully slow but make slow deliberate inputs....ramp up and down your brake pressures, slowly press the accelerator, and slowly turn the steering wheel. This makes sure you are using all of your available traction instead of overloading the contact patches. That's how

love the saab!

It was GM showing off their build quality, then the bean counters came in and it all just went horribly, horribly wrong.

hahahahaha! YES

Lada Niva...? I'm not one to complain, but this surely deserves a spot, you can still buy them new and they're now eligible for import into the US, and you can buy one in Canada. Easy to get parts for and ridiculously reliable, cheap, and stupidly easy to fix.

also known as Saab B207R. Good choice, I love this engine. It's so happy!

because 4,000 Litre oil change.

Go for the 6.0L Vortec out of a Tahburbcaladeradoerra, cheapest way to get it done for the most power.

Maybe not EXACTLY a crate engine (more a engine that brings the crates to you), but I still think it counts.

Kill it with FIRE.

actually, as proven by TDI cup and a man named Hans (seriously, he was the chief engineer) if it is a MK5 or MK6 car then yes, yes a lot of it will, namely the R8 brakes...using all factory parts.

pretty standard driving for Russia. I'm surprised he didn't start shooting at the bus. It is top quality, da?
