What if we ran the Deltawing backwards?
What if we ran the Deltawing backwards?
Right up until they go, fuck it, this is too expensive, and quit.
Dear Dude,
Ya, they never did really rise to the occasion. Kind of a half-baked effort. Has since gone stale.
And in your example those people would be equally incorrect about the application of the freedom of speech.
And actually, parity often leads to more brand diversity. Nissan, Mercedes and Volvo wouldn't have joined V8 Supercars if there wasn't a reasonable guarantee they'd be competitive.
Between brands maybe, but what happens when there only one or two brands left standing?
Win on Sunday, sell on Monday doesn't really work that well anymore. The average automotive consumer isn't a racing fan.
And the more BoP they do, the closer and closer they got to a spec car. And here we are with racing that is far better than it was in the 90s.
Right, but those are no where near production based race cars. They have a few body panels off of a street car on a tube frame that was built to a spec. They're a lot closer to today's cars than the street cars they represented.
DTM was working towards matching the GT3 spec. That may have stalled, last I heard.
1969 Daytona 500. 2 cars finished on the lead lap. I don't want to watch that kind of racing.
1969 Daytona 500. 2 cars finished on the lead lap. That's pretty terrible racing.
Or they would all look at the cost of development and close up shop. It's not easy to maintain manufacturer involvement in racing. A constant arms race is expensive.
It's pretty much a spec car. They even called it 'The Car of the Future' while it was in development... just like Nascar's 'Car of Tomorrow'.
Ya, the good ol' days, when 3 cars finishing on the lead lap was a close race.
Because the more different the cars are, the greater the difference in performance there will be and the farther apart from each other they will end up on the race track. Back in the days of production based stock car racing it wasn't at all uncommon for the gap from first to second to be counted in laps, not…
I do not condone the super aggressive, angry attitude that many people display towards cars they don't like, but I think there should be some differentiation between those who dislike vs. those who hate. There are plenty of True Enthusiasts who dislike a lot of cars, but you're certainly right that there are many who…
