Happy Bastille Day, everyone!

You’re a bit confused..

against free and comprehensive access to birth control under the Affordable Care Act, a long-term project of the Religious Right

This was the first (and only) book I ever re-read as soon as I finished it. SUCH a good book. Which made me all the more disappointed when I read (and hated) The Goldfinch...

Wait isn’t she married to that guy who goes by The Fat Jewish? Or used to be married to him..?

Honestly it seems she became a star *despite* being in Twilight. Right after Twilight, Jason Reitman cast her in “Up in the Air” (for which she was nominated for an Academy Award). He says he wrote the role with her in mind, even though he disliked that she was in Twilight, which he called “a graveyard of acting”:

Regardless of the fact that “brown face” is apparently the hill Adam Rapoport has chosen to die on, I find it telling that someone who spent the majority of his career in top-level positions at one of the largest global media companies in the world doesn’t know that “off the record” doesn’t mean you can “take it back”

You know that, don’t pretend not to.

If a normal person shoved someone, causing serious injuries

Honestly, very respectfully, Mr. President, suck my dick.

Because it’s not nearly enough. Small steps aren’t good enough anymore.

“Two officers have been suspended”

lol Jeeeesus I didn’t even make it to the 2nd page. Maybe don’t make this about you, Lea. Or maybe open up your purse and donate to the cause instead of pretending you’ll open your ears to listen and learn “in the future.”

“...how my own behavior towards fellow cast members was perceived by them.”

I wish I liked it more than I do. It seems both muted and overproduced. Honestly the first time I listened, my initial though was “this is what I imagine Ally’s sophomore album would have sounded like in ‘A Star is Born.’”

I mean, at the very least Biden has issued statements and gone to meet with protesters while Trump was rage-tweeting from his underground bunker.

Maybe I’m naive, but I never was on board with the criticism of this story. I never interpreted the ending as “girl changes everything about herself to get the guy.” My interpretation was “this is the transition from 1959 into the 60s and the start of women shedding societal expectations/owning their sexuality.”

His supporters are already saying, “No no no no, he was OBVIOUSLY saying that looting LEADS to looters shooting people. hE WAs CaLLiNg FoR aN EnD tO ViOleNce...” Completely ignoring the Walter Headley connection.

If she had just admitted what she did, made a sincere apology (or literally even sincere sounding fake apology) and plead guilty months ago, she would have already served her sentence (or, more likely, not have had to serve her sentence in jail AT ALL because of Covid-19), and could have started her comeback already.
